7. Immortal Soul: Black Survival

Free-to-play survival game that is quite unique. Instead of using 3D graphics like most other games, Black Survival uses menu-based 2D graphics not unlike old browser or Flash games. Unsurprisingly, Black Survival was originally released on mobile (and now supports crossplay between PC and mobile). 10 players must try to survive while eliminating each other and there are 45 different characters that you can choose from. There were 485 people who played it in the last 24 hours and 1,739 Steam users were active at the same time playing this title.

6. No More Room in Hell

The popularity of zombie-themed games doesn't seem to ever die. Pun intended. This multiplayer game is designed for eight players, and provides you with more than 30 types of weapons and a feature called Infection; when bitten you might turn into a zombie, will you tell your friends or keep your mouth shut until you find a cure but threatening the safety of your team at the same time? This free-to-play online game is still bustling with players. It had 675 players since yesterday and the highest number of active players touched 10,922 people.

5. Stay Out

An MMORPG shooter title that plunges you into a terrifying world full of dangerous monsters. From its look, you could say that Stay Out is the free and online version of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series. It's a shame that there's a pay-to-win element, notably you can immediately get good weapons by paying real cash. In the last 24 hours there were around 1,500 people who played this game. The highest number of players does not differ much, hovering at 2,203 so far.

4. Will To Live Online

It looks quite similar to Stay Out, but Will To Live Online has more survival elements. Apart from dealing with mutants and armed looters, you must protect yourself from nuclear radiation, as well as hunger and thirst. Luckily you can trade items and group up with other players. This survival title was played by 2,079 people in the last 24 hours, and as many as 3,108 players were active at the same time at one point of its lifetime.

3. SCP: Secret Laboratory

Have you ever heard of SCP, a collection of fictional stories that were made as if there is a secret organization gathering information about mysterious and dangerous creatures from all over the world? If you are a fan of these stories, there’s a free-to-play game that you can play with friends to experience the thrill of being a member of the SCP Foundation. If this is the first time you have heard of it but like multiplayer horror games anyway, there's nothing wrong with trying this one out. 

In this game, you and other players will be randomly selected to become SCP Foundation agents, members of the evil organization Chaos Insurgency, and even SCP monsters. Your main objective is to carry out your respective assignments and survive until the round ends. The game is still quite populated, 4,945 active players were online in the last 24 hours and its peak reached up to 7,679 people.

2. Eternal Return: Black Survival

Do you still remember Immortal Soul: Black Survival in this list above? Yep, this anime-styled game is a spin-off of that one. Eternal Return combines elements of three different genres -- battle royale, MOBA, and survival -- into one pretty interesting package. To survive and defend yourself from opponents (other players and AI) you have to hunt for materials and make equipment through the crafting system. Compared to Immortal Soul, this title is more populated, played by 10,862 people in the past day, and 52,853 players were active at the same time.

1. Unturned

And in first place there is a free FPS survival game made by a 13 year old Canadian teenager, Nelson Sexton. This survival FPS game with a voxel graphics similar to Minecraft but with the gameplay of DayZ, Rust, and the likes, still successfully invited 29,544 active players in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, the highest number of active players ever recorded for Unturned reached up to 63,462 people.
