The Season of Heritage brings numerous ancient Pokemon, and the Mythical Pokemon Genesect is the latest coming to Tier 5 Raid Battles. Genesect is a Pokemon that’s been revived from its fossil form and enhanced by Team Plasma. The team even modified Genesect to have a cannon mounted on its back. Genesect has the special Moveset Techno Blast, a move exclusively made for this Pokemon.
The drive mounted on Genesect’s back varies, depending on its needs. The red Burn Drive allows it to launch Fire-type Techno Blast, the white Chill Drive allows it to launch Ice-type Techno Blast, the blue Douse Drive grants Water-type Techno Blast, and the yellow Shock Drive gives it Electric-type Techno Blast. Without any drive, it will mount the orange Normal Drive. And, this time, Shock Drive Genesect makes its debut Pokemon GO with its Techno Blast Electric variant.
Genesect has resistance towards numerous Moveset types given that it’s of the Bug & Steel-type. However, it’s not that difficult to defeat Genesect in Raid Battles. Genesect is weak against Fire-type Pokemon, and it has a Double Weakness against these types of attacks, thus, Genesect tends to get overwhelmed by these types. As a matter of fact, if your Fire-type Pokemon are really strong, you can go up against Genesect by yourself in Raid Battles!
The recommended Fire-type Pokemon to counter Genesect are Reshiram, Darmanitan, Chandelure, Blaziken, Heatran, Moltres, etc. Despite having a CP of 47,836 as a Raid Boss, it’s still possible to beat Genesect using Fire-type attacks. Unfortunately, this event doesn’t feature the Shiny form for Shock Drive Genesect. So, Trainers have to wait longer to have the chance of catching Shiny Genesect.
