Following the arrival of Shiny Giratina Altered Forme several months ago, Niantic finally releases Shiny Giratina Origin Forme in Pokemon GO.

The Origin Forme of Giratina is understandably more prestigious than the Altered Forme in Pokemon GO since it has higher Base Attack stats, which makes it tend to be the Attacker in Raids.

That is why the Origin Forme would be a perfect addition to your Raid squad, unlike the Altered Forme, which has a higher Defense stats, making it a better option to be used in PvP battles.

Giratina Origin Forme is one of the best Ghost-type Attackers. It shares the same tier as Gengar and Chandelure, yet the Giratina Origin Forme has higher durability and doesn’t faint too easily. In short, Giratina Origin Forme as a Ghost-type Attacker is the absolute superior choice for any Trainers in Pokemon GO.

Giratina Origin Forme has 41,776 CP as a Tier 5 Raid Boss and requires multiple Trainers to work together to defeat it in Raid Battles.

Actually, with just 2 Trainers, you can defeat Giratina Origin Forme if you have a high level of Superior Counter. However, just to be safe, you should go for a team of 5 Trainers with standard lineups to defeat it.

Use Dark, Dragon, Fairy, Ghost, or Ice-type attacks to come up against Giratina Origin Forme to get the Super Effective Attack with a 160% boost.

The recommended Pokemon to counter Giratina is Superior Dragon-types, such as Rayquaza; Salamence; Palkia; Dragonite; Haxorus; and so on. Dragon-type Pokemon have high Attack stats, thus giving you more firepower to dish out damage on Giratina Origin Forme.

Other recommended Pokemon to counter it are Togekiss (Fairy); Weavile; Mamoswine; etc. If you’d like to use a Mega Evolution Pokemon, use Mega Houndoom with a Dark-type moveset as it is highly effective against Giratina Origin Forme.

If you managed to defeat the Raid Boss Giratina Origin, you will have the chance to catch it within the CP range of 2,018-2,105 and 2,523-2,631 during the Weather Boost (Foggy of Windy).
