Godzilla Minus One movie presents its second trailer with English subtitles. The movie is part of the Godzilla franchise and is directed by Takashi Yamazaki. The trailer has been uploaded to the official YouTube channel of the Godzilla franchise.

Godzilla Minus One was released in Japan on Friday, November 3rd 2023, also known as "Godzilla Day." The date commemorates the national release of the original Godzilla movie on November 3rd 1954. The movie was also screened at The Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF) and closed this year's event on Wednesday, November 1st 2023.

For fans in the United States, Godzilla Minus One will hit theaters on December 1st. The TIFF website provides an overview of the movie's story:

"The worst despair in the series' 70-year history hit Japan! After the war, Japan became a country in decline. Godzilla appears and plunges the country into a negative state. Facing the most desperate situation in Japanese history, how, and with whom, will Japan fight back?"

The movie features a number of prominent actors and actresses, including Ryunosuke Kamiki (Rurouni Kenshin) as Koichi Shikishima, and Minami Hamabe (Shin Masked Rider) as Noriko Oishi. Other cast members include Yuki Yamada, Munetaka Aoki, Hidetaka Yoshioka, Sakura Ando, and Kuranosuke Sasaki.

The movie's director and writer is Takashi Yamazaki, who also plays a role in the movie's visual effects. Yamazaki has previously directed various live action movies such as Always: Sunset on Third Street, Returner, and Parasyte, as well as CG movies such as Stand By Me Doraemon.

For your information, Shin Godzilla, directed by Hideaki Anno, is the most recent live action Godzilla movie before Godzilla Minus One. It was released in Japan in 2016 and earned 8.2 billion yen (roughly equivalent to Rp820 billion). Funimation premiered the movie in North American theaters in October 2016.

Meanwhile, the Godzilla vs. Kong movie produced by Warner Bros. and Legendary Entertainment was released in the United States in March 2021, and in Japan in July 2021. The movie is getting a sequel titled Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire that will hit theaters on April 12th 2024, and will have an IMAX presentation on its release day. The Monarch Series: Legacy of Monsters from Legendary Entertainment will debut globally on the Apple TV+ streaming service on November 17th 2023.
