The Game of The Week (GOTW) column is a weekly column by Dunia Games that discusses the latest games, from mobile games, PC, to consoles in every week. In this week’s edition of GOTW, we will discuss the newly-released Marvel Super Wars.

Marvel Super Wars is one of the most anticipated mobile games by gamers in Southeast Asian. After going through two closed beta tests a few months ago, on December 17, this game from NetEase was finally released on App Store and Play Store.

For a new MOBA game with official licenses of Marvel characters, there wasn’t much hype on this game. Nevertheless, not until a week from its release, this game has been downloaded by one million players worldwide. Will this game surpass other MOBA games that already got their names in Indonesia, such as Mobile Legends Bang Bang and Arena of Valor?

Marvel Super Wars Characters

Compared to other MOBA, Marvel Super Wars has an advantage on the available hero characters. As the name implies, the hero characters in this game are the superheroes from the Marvel Universe, starting from its comics, films, to TV series.

There are 42 superhero characters that you can play as in Marvel Super Wars. Of the 42 characters, 10 of them are; Black Widow, Thor, Loki, Heimdall, Iceman, Angel, Magneto, Groot, Rocket Racoon, and Mantis, as they are available for you to use for free, while the rest can be unlocked at the Shop using coins that you obtain both from the game or from purchasing it with real money.

Aside from the heroes, there are a lot of Skin choices you can customize your heroes with. The available skins vary distinctively, starting from those adapted from the MCU, to those old-school Marvel comics.

Classes in Marvel Super Wars

Just like other MOBA games, in Marvel Super Wars, the heroes are divided into six different classes. Each specific Class certainly has different roles to play for each Hero. Here are six Classes in this game:

  • Fighter
  • Energy
  • Marksmen
  • Assassin
  • Tank
  • Support

It is possible for a hero to have two different Classes. Heroes such as Groot, for example, are included in both Tank and Support Class.

The Class distribution and the Hero used by you and your teammates surely will determine your fate in the battle map inspired by Wakanda jungle.

Mobile Specs for Running Marvel Super Wars

Unlike the high-demanding PC games, as a mobile game, Marvel Super Wars doesn’t require a high-spec phone to play it. If you’re using an iOS, iPhone 5s will do the job just fine for this game.

As for Android phones, this game requires a minimum of:

  • CPU Snapdragon 410
  • 2 GB RAM
  • GPU Qualcomm Adreno 306
  • Android 5.1 System

Obviously, the higher your phone specs are the higher graphics settings that you can apply in this game. Although it doesn’t have a high spec requirement like Honkai Impact, Marvel Super Wars brings heroes, battles, and the environments that are just lovely.
