Live action from GTO (Great Teacher Onizuka) is confirmed to be broadcast again with the title GTO Revival. GTO Live Action first aired in 1998 starring Takashi Sorimachi as Onizuka Eikichi. In GTO Revival, Takashi Sorimachi returns as Onizuka-sensei.

Onizuka Eikichi is a 22-years-old man who was once a member of a motorcycle gang. After a certain incident, he dreams of becoming a teacher who can help his students. This series tells the story of Onizuka who transferred to Sōtoku Academy as a teacher.

GTO also received a live action series in 2012 and 2014, starring Ryōhei Kurosawa or Akira (Exile) as Onizuka. Akira's version of GTO Live Action gets two special episodes and a spin-off. It is not yet known whether GTO Revival will be a series or a movie.

GTO Revival will focus on Onizuka who gets into trouble at his school due to an influencer who reveals secrets from students and teachers to the public. Everyone at school became suspicious of each other, they thought that this influencer was also at Sotoku Academy. GTO Revival will air on April 1st 2024!
