1. Item Build

[Harmonic Echo]

The first item you can buy for Janna is the Harmonic Echo. This item will help her to sustain in fights with 70 (+10% AP) it offers for you when healing or shielding up to 3 nearby allied Champions.

What makes it even more amazing, Harmonic Echo will make you no longer worry about running out of mana as it gives you 300 max mana, 80 Ability Power, and a 10% cooldown reduction.

[Ionian Boots of Lucidity]

For her boots, you can get the Ionian Boots of Lucidity for its 10% cooldown reduction for Janna. The cooldown reduction is very useful for Support Champions, especially the likes of Janna, who has a lot of spam-able skills.

[Ardent Censer]

For Janna’s first item, you may want to get her the Ardent Censer. This item is one of the core items for most Support-Mage as it benefits the Champion and allies. As for the details, Ardent Censer grants 10-30% bonus Attack Speed and 16-30 Magic Damage for your Basic Attack (based on level) for 6 seconds -- when you heal or shield your ally (excluding yourself).

For your status, Ardent Censer provides 250 max HP, 60 Ability Power, and 10% cooldown reduction.

[Protector's Vow]

You can also get the Protector's Vow for Janna. This item is a great support item to help you protect your Carry from getting obliterated. With Protector's Vow, Janna or your ally will receive 125 bonus shield and 20% Movement Speed for 1.5 seconds when taking damage from an enemy, monster, or Turret. It also provides Janna additional 40 armor, 10% cooldown reduction, and 350 HP. 

[Athene's Unholy Grail]

Perhaps some of you (especially beginners) will not be keen on the effect of Athene's Unholy Grail. Because you will have to get the stacks, which takes time for you to feel the effect. The effect, "Blood Price", allows you to store 35% damage taken as Blood (stack), capped at 110-250. Healing or shielding an ally consumes these stacks to heal or shield them for an equal value.

[Adaptive Helm]

Lastly, you may want to pick the Adaptive Helm to give Janna some magic resistance. It’s a precautionary item to help Janna survives from the enemy’s burst damage, like Malphite (AP); Fizz; or Ahri. With Adaptive Helm, Janna will get 300 HP, 60 magic resist, and 100% HP regen. The Passive of Adaptive Helm reduces all subsequent magic damage by 15% for 4s. Allowing her to sustain the damage taken -- perfect for a late-game item.

[Upgrade Ionian Boots of Lucidity: Redeeming Enchant]

To help your allies sustain longer on the battlefield, you may want to get the Redeeming Enchant upgrade for the Ionian Boots of Lucidity. This upgrade allows you to heal nearby allies for 25-375 HP, while nearby enemies take 10% of their max HP as true damage.

And, you can also activate Redeeming Enchant even when you’re dead.

2. Rune

[Summon Aery]

For her Keystone, you can pick Summon Aery. This rune will come in handy for you to have better coordination with the ADC. It grants a 20-120 bonus shield (based on level) (+40% of bonus Attack Damage) (+20% of Ability Power) for 2 seconds when shielding healing, or using other buffs.

[Weakness]

For her second rune, you can get Weakness. So why this rune? Because Janna has a lot of CCs with her skills, whether it’s slow or stun. Thus, the additional damage Weakness offers against slowed or stunned targets will complement well with Janna.

[Loyalty]

Next, you can pick Loyalty. This rune will provide you 2 bonus Armor and 5 bonus magic resistance. Your closest ally will also gain 5 bonus Armor and 2 bonus magic resistance, which can be stacked.

[Pack Hunter]

Last but not least, you should grab Pack Hunter. This Rune grants her an additional 2% bonus Movement Speed when near allies. It also gives her and each ally involved in a Champion takedown a bonus of 50 gold.
