Ahri is a favorite Champion for many mid-laners in Wild Rift due to her easy-to-grasp skill set. Aside from that, she also has high burst damage, coupled with a useful crowd control ability, Charm -- which allows her to lure her targets to her. Speaking of her abilities, this Mage Champion is quite nimble once she has reached level 6, thanks to her Ultimate, Spirit Rush. Now, to get a better grasp of this Champion, take a look at the following guide by Dunia Games.
1. Item Build
[Luden's Echo]
For her first item, you can pick Luden's Echo. It gives Ahri a better chance to survive in the early game with its 80 ability power, 10% cooldown, and 300 mana. As for its Passive, Luden's Echo provides her 100 bonus Ability Power after reaching 100 stacks of Discord (by moving and casting abilities).
[Ionian Boots of Lucidity]
For her boots, you may want to pick Ionian Boots of Lucidity for its additional 10% Cooldown. This additional Cooldown is very useful for a Mage, especially for Champions like Ahri who can make deadly combos with her skills.
[Awakened Soulstealer]
Since Ahri has a long Ultimate cooldown, it would be smart to pick Awakened Soulstealer. Awakened Soulstealer reduces its user’s Ultimate by 3% after getting a unique Takedown. Capping at 15% after 5 stacks.
[Morellonomicon]
You can buy Morellonomicon after Awakened Soulstealer. This item provides additional 70 Ability Power and 300 HP -- making you tankier. Morellonomicon also works amazingly against Champions who rely on lifesteal in team fights because of its Grievous Wounds -- an effect that reduces the enemy’s health regen.
[Rabadon's Deathcap]
To make it even more difficult for enemies to survive your attack, you can have a massive boost of Ability Power from Rabadon's Deathcap. Despite its high price, this item is totally worth buying for its additional 130 Ability Power. Not to mention its Passive, which grants you 40% bonus Ability Power (of your total Ability Power). Even Tanks will find it difficult to withstand Ahri’s attacks with Rabadon's Deathcap.
[Void Staff]
Next, you may want to get Void Staff. This item is crucial in the late game, because, the Tanks would’ve already equipped themselves with a magic-resist item, thus it would be harder for you to dish out some damage on them. In terms of its effect, this item grants you 70 Ability Power with a Passive that provides you 40% magic penetration.
[Upgrade Ionian Boots of Lucidity: Stasis Enchant]
Since she’s a Mage, Ahri is very squishy, especially if she’s targeted by Assassins like Master Yi or Zed. Therefore, you can upgrade your Ionian Boots of Lucidity to Stasis Enchant. It allows you to become invulnerable for 2.5s.
2. Rune
[Electrocute]
As a Mage, Ahri desperately needs to rely on burst damage to take down her enemies as quickly as possible. So, you may want to pick Electrocute as her Keystone. By hitting enemies three times (basic attacks and ability power), the target will be struck by lightning, inflicting them 30-184 damage (based on level); (40% bonus Attack Damage); (25% Ability Power).
[Brutal]
For Domination, you can pick Brutal to complement your Runes. It gives her 14 bonus Ability Power and 2% bonus magic resist. With Brutal, you will be able to withstand incoming front laners like Tanks.
[Regeneration]
For her next Rune, you can pick Regeneration to give Ahri some sustain. Its Passive allows you to regenerate 2% missing health or mana every 3s (based on whichever percentage is lower).
[Manaflow Band]
As for her last Rune, you should take Manaflow Band, which increases your maximum mana by 30 (up to 300) when she lands an ability or empowered attack on an enemy Champion.
3. Spells
[Flash]
Flash is a Spell for the people. Almost every Champion uses this Spell to chase down enemies or escaping from them. However, this cooldown for Spell is quite long, 150s.
[Ignite]
Ignite greatly benefits Ahri in duels. You can use Ignite when the enemy HP is critically low, as it will burn your target with 60-410 true damage (based on level) for 5s -- finishing off your target when they try to escape the team fight.
4. Combo
Ahri is a Champion that relies heavily on landing her combos. Now, to let you have a better grasp of this Champion here’s her basic combo that any Ahri main should know:
Spirit Rush (Ultimate) -> Charm (3) -> Orb Deception (1) -> Spirit Rush (Ultimate) -> Fox-Fire (2) -> Spirit Rush (Ultimate)
5. Gameplay
- Always use Charm (3) to start your combos;
- During the laning phase (early game), don’t spam your skills to clear the minion wave as it will deplete her mana quickly -- just use your basic attacks to get the last hit;
- Use Spirit Rush (Ultimate) to maintain your distance from the fight. If you want to use it offensively, make sure your target is alone.
