Orianna is a rather unique Mage who uses a sphere to launch attacks. Not just to inflict damage on her opponents, this sphere can also grant her additional Movement Speed and shield. So, what’s the best build for Orianna? Take a look at this build guide for Orianna in Wild Rift by Dunia Games.
1. Item Build
[Luden's Echo]
For her first item, you can pick Luden's Echo. It gives Orianna a better chance to survive in the early game with its 80 ability power, 10% cooldown, and 300 mana. As for its Passive, Luden's Echo provides her 100 bonus Ability Power after reaching 100 stacks of Discord (by moving and casting abilities).
[Ionian Boots of Lucidity]
For her boots, you may want to pick Ionian Boots of Lucidity for its additional 10% Cooldown. This additional Cooldown is very useful for a Mage, especially for Champions like Orianna who can make deadly combos with her skills.
[Awakened Soulstealer]
Since Orianna has a long Ultimate cooldown, it would be smart to pick Awakened Soulstealer. Awakened Soulstealer reduces its user’s Ultimate by 3% after getting a unique Takedown. Capping at 15% after 5 stacks.
[Infinity Orb]
For the next item, you can get the Infinity Orb. This item grants you 60 additional Ability Power and 200 HP. As for its Passive, Infinity Orb provides a 5% bonus Movement Speed and 15 Magic Penetration. Another Passive that this item offers is 20% bonus Critical Damage against enemies with less than 35% health.
[Rabadon's Deathcap]
To make it even more difficult for enemies to survive your attack, you can have a massive boost of Ability Power from Rabadon's Deathcap. Despite its high price, this item is totally worth buying for its additional 130 Ability Power. Not to mention its Passive, which grants you 40% bonus Ability Power (of your total Ability Power). Even Tanks will find it difficult to withstand Orianna’s attacks with Rabadon's Deathcap.
[Void Staff]
Next, you may want to get Void Staff. This item is crucial in the late game, because, the Tanks would’ve already equipped themselves with a magic-resist item, thus it would be harder for you to dish out some damage on them. In terms of its effect, this item grants you 70 Ability Power with a Passive that provides you 40% magic penetration.
[Upgrade Ionian Boots of Lucidity: Stasis Enchant]
Since she’s a Mage, Orianna is very squishy, especially if she’s targeted by Assassins like Master Yi or Zed. Therefore, you can upgrade your Ionian Boots of Lucidity to Stasis Enchant. It allows you to become invulnerable for 2.5s.
2. Rune
[Electrocute]
As a Mage, Orianna desperately needs to rely on burst damage to take down her enemies as quickly as possible. So, you may want to pick Electrocute as her Keystone. By hitting enemies three times (basic attacks and ability power), the target will be struck by lightning, inflicting them 30-184 damage (based on level); (40% bonus Attack Damage); (25% Ability Power).
[Gathering Storm]
Orianna needs high Magic Damage, for her Domination you can pick Gathering Storm. This Rune grants you 2 bonus Attack Damage or 4 Ability Power every 2 minutes. This will benefit Orianna greatly when you want to cast her Ultimate, Shockwave.
[Regeneration]
For her next Rune, you can pick Regeneration to give Orianna some sustain. Its Passive allows you to regenerate 2% missing health or mana every 3s (based on whichever percentage is lower).
[Manaflow Band]
As for her last Rune, you should take Manaflow Band, which increases your maximum mana by 30 (up to 300) when she lands an ability or empowered attack on an enemy Champion.
3. Spells
[Flash]
Flash is a Spell that works well for any Champion. Almost every Champion uses this Spell to chase down enemies or escaping from them. However, this cooldown for Spell is quite long, 150s.
[Ignite]
Ignite greatly benefits Orianna in duels. You can use Ignite when the enemy HP is critically low, as it will burn your target with 60-410 true damage (based on level) for 5s -- finishing off your target when they try to escape the team fight.
4. Combo
Orianna is a Champion who relies heavily on her Ultimate, Shockwave, in team fights. If you cannot land your Shockwave on your targets, it will be detrimental for your team. Here’s Orianna’s combo:
Command: Attack (1) -> Command: Shockwave (Ultimate) -> Command (Dissonance)
5. Gameplay
- Orianna’s Passive grants her bonus magic damage from her basic attacks (and it stacks) if she attacks the same target for 4s. So, a long battle with an opponent hugely benefits Orianna;
- Use Command: Protect (3) to save Orianna from getting killed, as it gives you additional armor; magic resistance; and shield;
- If you target your ally -who has a skill to disappear- with the sphere, Orianna’s sphere won’t be seen by the opponents. You can pull off a combo with Champions like Evelynn to set up an ambush;
