Wukong is the latest Champion addition in Wild Rift that you can get for free via the in-game event. As the newest Champion, you surely will need the best build guide to get the best out of him. Now, so that you don’t end up being the feeder in your team, here’s the best build guide for Wukong in Wild Rift by Dunia Games.
1. Item Build
[Black Cleaver]
For his first item, you may want to get Black Cleaver for Wukong. This item will greatly increase his chance of winning in duels. Black Cleaver reduces the enemy’s armor by 4% for 6 seconds (stacking 6 times; for 24% reduction). As for the stats, Black Cleaver grants Wukong 30 attack damage, 20% cooldown reduction, and 350 HP.
[Mercury Treads]
For his boots, you can purchase the Mercury Treads for Wukong. Since Wukong can be pretty squishy once he’s stunned, the 30% CC reduction from Mercury Treads will help him survive the enemy attacks. It will also allow you to play more aggressively against Champions who rely on CCs.
[Death’s Dance]
Since the Marksman meta in Wild Rift is all about a combination of attack speed and lifesteal, you may want to get Death’s Dance to counter them. With the Bleed Passive for 3 seconds of the 30% of damage taken, this item will render the enemy Marksman overwhelmed.
Death's Dance also offers 300% HP, 35 Attack Damage, and 10% Cooldown Reduction -- making him even more deadly although it doesn’t only give you Attack Damage.
[Sterak's Gage]
Since you can’t find Tiamat in Wild Rift, you can jump straight to Sterak's Gage instead. This item helps Wukong to be tankier and more difficult to kill. As for its Passive, it gives him a shield that absorbs 75% of his bonus HP when his HP goes down below 35% for 3s.
And, this item can only be used by melee Champions. So, don’t expect to equip your Marksman with Sterak's Gage.
[Guardian Angel]
To make yourself tankier, you can pick Guardian Angel. This item will provide you with 40 armor and 45 Attack Damage and the Resurrect Passive effect.
You can get resurrected with 50% HP and 30% of max mana. However, this item has a 3-minute cooldown. So it’d be better to get it in the later phase of the game.
[Randuin’s Omen]
As we’ve mentioned above, Marksman Champions in Wild Rift can be really dominant once they’ve maxed out their attack speed. To overcome this, you can get Randuin’s Omen for 2,800 gold. This item reduces 15% of the enemy’s critical strike damage and attack speed.
[Upgrade Mercury Treads: Stasis Enchant]
For his boots upgrade, you may want to pick Stasis Enchant. It will render you untargetable and invulnerable for 2.5 seconds.
2. Runes
[Conqueror]
Wukong needs high Damage to finish off his targets quickly. Therefore, you can pick Conqueror as his Rune. Its Passive grants him 2-6 bonus damage (based on level) stacking up to 5 times -- for a maximum of 10 - 30 bonus Attack Damage (based on level).
[Brutal]
For Domination, you can pick Brutal to complement other runes. This Rune grants Wukong a bonus of 7 attack damage and 2% armor penetration. With Brutal, Wukong will be able to dominate against Tanks like Garen.
[Spirit Walker]
As for his Resolve, you may want to get Spirit Walker to gain 50 max HP and 20% slow resistance.
[Hunter - Genius]
With Hunter - Genius as his Inspiration Rune, Wukong will receive a 2.5% bonus cooldown reduction. Also, unique takedowns will grant him a 1.5% bonus cooldown reduction. This Rune synergizes greatly with Wukong’s skill set, especially with his Nimbus Strike (3).
3. Spells
[Ignite]
Ignite greatly benefits Wukong in duels. You can use Ignite when the enemy HP is critically low, as it will burn your target with 60-410 true damage (based on level) for 5s -- finishing off your target when they try to escape the team fight.
[Flash]
Flash is a Spell that works well for any Champion. Almost every Champion uses this Spell to chase down enemies or escaping from them. However, this cooldown for Spell is quite long, 150s.
4. Combo
Wukong’s combo is actually pretty simple. The trickiest part is you need to find the perfect timing to switch between Decoy (2) and Cyclone (U) to pull off an effective knock-up effect.
Nimbus Strike (3) -> Crushing Blow (1) -> Cyclone (U) -> Decoy (2) -> Cyclone (U)
5. Gameplay
- You can use Crushing Blow (1) to poke enemies since it has a great attack range;
- Use Decoy (2) to either escape or jump into team fights;
- Use Decoy (2) before recasting Cyclone (U), so that his decoy will also knock your target up.
