Fishing Contest

Fishing Contest is a Daily Quest where you can win Fish Print Commemorative Coins, which can be exchanged for various items, one of which is a fishing pole that will help you to fish automatically. The higher your Rank, the more Fish Print Commemorative Coins you can get.

This quest is located in Prontera South Gate, from the NPC Xavier. You will be directed to the fishing spot in Prontera South Gate. Most of you will see the message "This type of fish is not in the Fish Print Ranking", which means that the fish that you catch doesn’t count in the competition.

However, do you know that there’s a special spot specifically meant for the fishing contest in Ragnarok X Next Generation? You can only use the Magic Bait in this spot (which can be acquired when you start the mission). You won’t be able to catch any fish using common bait.

But There’s a Catch...

Although this spot promises the fish required in the fishing contest, it doesn’t guarantee you to win. The reason being, you still have to compete with the other 150 players every day.

Even though it doesn’t guarantee you to win, at least you’ll have a bigger opportunity to catch the fish required in the Fish Print Ranking -- compared to fishing in Prontera South Gate.

When fishing using the Magic Bait you will receive three different messages:

1. "This type of fish is not in the Fish Print Ranking": it means that the fish you caught doesn’t count in the competition
2. "This type of fish is not in the rankings yet. Continue to work hard!": your fish counts but it doesn’t rank in the top 50;
3. "This type of fish is currently ranked at number [1 to 50]": your fish is in the top 50

Fishing Spot

The recommended spot for you to participate in the fishing contest is located on Izlude Island. It’s west of the Fishing Contest location. You can get 3-5 fish that are included in the competition each day.

If you receive these messages: "This type of fish is not in the rankings yet. Continue to work hard!" or "This type of fish is currently ranked at number [1 to 50]" it means that you caught the required fish listed in the Fishing Print Ranking.

How to Take Part in the Fishing Contest

Each day, you will receive a mission titled "Xavier's Mysterious Item". You can click this quest to take you to the NPC Xavier in Prontera South Gate. You will be taking on your first mission, which is to catch 10 fish and give them to NPC Xavier. Once you’ve completed the mission, you will receive the Magic Fishing mission and +10 Magic Baits.

After receiving “Magic Fishing”, you can go straight to the fishing spot on Izlude Island. If you’re lucky, you’ll receive a message "This type of fish is currently ranked at number [1 to 50]".

Prizes

Each day, there are only three types of fish listed in the Fish Print Ranking. Each fish ranks from 50 up to 1. You can track your ranking in the fishing contest by talking to NPC Xavier and select "Fish Print Ranking".

Here are the prizes that players can get from ranking in the top 50:

• Top 1: 100 x Fish Print Commemorative Coins
• Top 2 - 5: 80 x Fish Print Commemorative Coins
• Top 6 - 10: 50 x Fish Print Commemorative Coins
• Top 11 - 50: 1 x Automatic Fishing Rod

You can find your rewards in your in-game email.
