Sunrise through its portal site Gundam.info has announced that Kido Senshi Gundam: Tekketsu no Orphans: Urðr-Hunt (Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans: Urðr-Hunt), an anime spinoff of the anime series Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans (Kido Senshi Gundam: Tekketsu no Orphans), will be adapted into a standalone anime.

This spinoff, titled Kido Senshi Gundam: Tekketsu no Orphans: Urðr-Hunt, was announced by Sunrise and Bandai Namco Entertainment in 2019 and debuted in the Kido Senshi Gundam: Tekketsu no Orphans G app last year. Kido Senshi Gundam: Tekketsu no Orphans G is an app that combines anime and game elements, and brings back elements of the original anime as well as Kido Senshi Gundam: Tekketsu no Orphans: Urðr-Hunt.

The app launched in November 2022 and will cease service on January 11th 2024. The final part of the 12th Urðr-Hunt episode aired on the app on October 14th 2023.

The first season of the anime series premiered in 2015, followed by the second season in 2016. Daisuki, Gundam.info, and Hulu broadcast the first season at the same time as each episode premiered in Japan, while Crunchyroll broadcast both seasons, including the English version. Toonami began broadcasting the first season with English dubbing in June 2016, and the second season in October 2017.

Mobile Suit Gundam spinoff manga: Tekketsu no Orphans Gekko by writer Hajime Kamoshida and artists Dango and Hirosuke Terama ended up in Kadokawa's Gundam Ace magazine in March 2018.

With this announcement, Gundam fans can look forward to more adventures and stories from the world of Iron-Blooded Orphans. This standalone anime will be a wonderful opportunity to explore new stories from this beloved series.
