ONIC ID have fallen to Team Liquid PH in their Group A match at MSC 2025. The result has secured TLPH a slot in the Knockout Stage, while ONIC must play one more match to determine their playoff fate.

ONIC ID had held a golden opportunity to close the series with a 2-0 victory. After a stunning comeback win in Game 1, they had built a massive lead in Game 2. However, a string of unexpected plays allowed TLPH to mount a comeback, and by Game 3, the Filipino side’s mental fortitude proved to be unmatched.

ONIC’s Dramatic Comeback in Game 1

The first game showcased a fierce and relentless battle from the start. Sudden skirmishes had broken out early on, primarily triggered by Sanji’s devastating Selena that had made life difficult for ONIC.

ONIC had been on the back foot until late game, but their defensive setup held firm. One player who deserved credit was Lutpii with his Cici, who consistently targeted TLPH’s core heroes.

Despite TLPH’s terrifying burst potential, their extended teamfights weren’t dominant, as ONIC understood they would thrive once Phoveus was neutralized. Sanford had therefore become the primary target in late-game clashes.

Though nearly all objectives had gone to TLPH, ONIC seized their comeback moment. Kairi’s Aamon picked off key heroes one by one, allowing ONIC ID to secure the first game and take a 1-0 lead.

KarlTzy’s Lancelot Was Too Much, TLPH Struck Back in Game 2

In the second game, ONIC looked much stronger. Their draft was early-game centric, and they took advantage of it effectively. Aside from Savero’s Claude, all other heroes—including Kadita, Fredrinn, Hilda, and Arlott—brought strong presence in the early stages.

Savero’s Claude had received ample space to farm, reaching his power spikes even before the late game.

Unfortunately, TLPH showed championship-caliber composure. It all started with a stolen Lord by OHEB’s Moskov spear. Slowly but surely, they closed the gold gap. KarlTzy then stepped up with a mechanical masterclass on Lancelot, dismantling ONIC ID in a freestyle teamwipe.

TLPH leveled the series 1-1 with flair and confidence.

TLPH Drafted Power Picks, ONIC ID Defeated 2-1

ONIC ID had to accept the truth—Team Liquid PH were just too strong. In the decider, TLPH secured three top-tier picks right away: Wanwan, Fredrinn, and Lapu-Lapu.

From the draft alone, TLPH held the upper hand in terms of hero power. ONIC ID, on the other hand, went for riskier choices, including a roamer Akai and a return to Aamon for Game 3.

TLPH dominated the game from start to finish. ONIC ID never found the right window for a full-scale teamfight. Akai’s presence was nullified, as it was TLPH’s Valentina who benefited more from his ultimate.

TLPH sealed the 2-1 victory with a convincing performance and clinched their spot in the playoffs.
