The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Women's Invitational (MWI) 2025 Esports World Cup has reached the playoffs, where eight teams will compete for the MWI 2025 championship and a total prize pool of US$500,000. These eight top MLBB Women's teams previously competed in the Group Stage.

The 16 teams are divided into four groups, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the playoffs. The MWI 2025 Esports World Cup playoffs will use a Single Elimination Bracket format, making the matches even more exciting and thrilling.

Onic Pertiwi and Team Vitality, the two Indonesian teams representing the MWI 2025 Esports World Cup, have successfully advanced to the playoffs. They will face tough challenges against Terror Queens and FUT Esports, respectively. Similarly, the defending champions, Natus Vincere PH (NAVI PH), will face Gaimin Gladiators.

MWI 2025 Esports World Cup Results: Big Upsets on Day One of the Playoffs for ONIC and NAVI PH!

On the first day of the MWI 2025 Esports World Cup playoffs, we saw a match between ONIC Pertiwi and Terror Queens. For the record, this playoff match uses a best-of-three (BO3) series format, where they play three games, with the first team to score two points winning.

In Game 1, the two teams were fairly evenly matched. However, Terror Queens managed to dismantle ONIC's defenses. Ruii's Hayabusa play gave ONIC a tough time. However, ONIC continued to counterattack Terror Queens.

A straight push with the first Lord was thwarted, and the game continued. Both teams engaged in a constant battle. Livi's Pharsa and Pou's Gatotkaca provided ONIC's best support. Lunalynn's Zhuxin's initiation also posed a significant threat to ONIC's players.

The two teams traded attacks, and the battle continued. The second Lord fell to Terror Queens again, but ONIC easily stopped it. ONIC finally secured the third Lord after taking down three Terror Queens players.

A straight push countered, and ONIC gained momentum. The Lord broke through, and Yippy and Xev took down two ONIC players, focusing on eliminating the enemy base, and ONIC ultimately secured Game 1. Moving into Game 2, ONIC once again dominated the early game.

However, in the mid-game, Terror Queens managed to turn the tide. One by one, ONIC's defenses were stripped away. The second Lord fell to Terror Queens, but ONIC still held on. The third Lord was secured again by the Terror Queens, but ONIC held on again.

Despite successfully holding the third Lord, CKOSHI's Granger managed to take down two ONIC players. Straight pushes were launched again, and the Terror Queens managed to equalize the score in the second game. In the deciding game, the two teams were evenly matched at the start.

However, by the 8th minute, the Terror Queens had successfully dismantled ONIC's turrets one by one, making it easier for them to push back the ONIC players to their base. The first Lord was secured by the Terror Queens, and a straight push was immediately launched into the ONIC base.

Ruii's Yi-Shun-Shin went wild, taking down two ONIC players, including Navilerra, paving the way for the Terror Queens to victory. The remaining two players were unable to do much, and the Terror Queens managed to stop ONIC's progress in the MWI 2025 playoffs with a score of 2-1.

Meanwhile, the Gaimin Gladiators surprisingly defeated Natus Vincere PH with a score of 2-0. Gaimin Gladiators' victory knocked out the defending MWI 2024 Champions on the first day of the MWI 2025 playoffs. What a surprise, Team Vitality remains as the only Indonesian representative.
