Conquer the M7 World Championship Wild Card, Team Zone and Boostgate Esports Qualify for the Swiss Stage!

The M7 World Championship Wild Card semifinals took place on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, where the top four teams faced off in a final battle to determine who would advance to the Swiss Stage. The first match saw Team Zone from Mongolia face Guangzhou Gaming from China, and the second, concluding match saw Virtus Pro from Russia face Boostgate Esports from Turkey.

The Swiss Stage match between Team Zone and Guangzhou Gaming was a fierce Best of 5 (BO5) match. Although Team Zone held the advantage due to their experienced players, Guangzhou Gaming pulled off a major upset early on. Relying on coach Vren's strategy and the impressive performances of their imported players, Guangzhou secured their first two wins. A brilliant comeback in the first game and Owl's Granger dominance in the second gave Guangzhou a 2-0 lead.

Fighting on the brink, Team Zone began to rally in the third game through the use of Leomord Jungler strategy and disciplined objective control. This positive momentum continued into the fourth game, where Zxaura's aggressive Hayabusa play disrupted the opposing defense. Team Zone successfully dominated the game and tied the score at 2-2, forcing Guangzhou into a fifth game, the deciding one.

The final game was a dramatic affair, with both teams trading attacks and crucial moments in the Lord's area. After a tough defense and a back-and-forth comeback, Team Zone finally won a vital teamfight, wiping out all Guangzhou players. This victory closed the match with a final score of 3-2, securing a "Reverse Sweep" that sent Zxaura and his teammates through to the Swiss Stage.

The final match of the M7 World Championship Wild Card Round pitted Virtus Pro (VP) and Boostgate Esports in a tightly contested duel. Virtus Pro took the lead in the first game through the dominant Fanny and Claude combo of Zauregoist and Superegorka. However, Boostgate quickly responded in the second game; relying on the synergy of Kazue's Hayabusa and Identify's Yve, they broke VP's dominance, secured Lord, and tied the series at 1-1.

The intensity of the match increased midway through the series. VP regained the lead in the third game thanks to Zauregoist's Yi Sun-shin (YSS) aggressive play, which successfully disrupted Boostgate's defense. A one-point deficit didn't deter Boostgate; in the fourth game, a strong performance from Rx and Identify kept VP at bay. Boostgate managed to force a comeback, leveling the score at 2-2, and sending the match to a fifth game decider.

The deciding game was a dramatic affair, with momentum shifting back and forth during the battle for Lord. Although VP briefly turned the tide through Zauregoist's brilliant play, Kazue's crucial late-game initiation proved the key to Boostgate's victory. Capitalizing on the final teamfight in the Lord area, Boostgate successfully toppled VP's defense and destroyed the enemy base. This dramatic 3-2 victory ensured Boostgate Esports became the second team to advance to the Swiss Stage, leading to emotional celebrations from the players and coaches.
