Heartopia isn’t just about building a virtual life and interacting with villagers—it’s also about enjoying the game with real-life friends. Playing together (co-op) in Heartopia can be a lot of fun, especially when you’re on a voice call or sitting side by side.
To make your multiplayer experience smooth, it’s important to understand how to add friends, start a co-op session, and increase your friendship level.
How to Add Friends in Heartopia
The first step before playing together is adding your friend to your friend list. To do this, you’ll need your friend’s D.G. Member UID. This code acts as a unique identity that is directly linked to a player’s profile. You can find your own D.G. Member UID in the bottom-left corner of the screen or by opening the Smartwatch and selecting your character portrait.
After getting your friend’s UID, open the Friendship Journal app on the in-game phone. Tap the magnifying glass icon in the bottom-left corner, then enter the D.G. Member UID. If the code is correct, your friend’s profile will appear and you can add them immediately. Once this step is done, you and your friend are ready to play together in Heartopia.
How to Play with Friends in Heartopia
After successfully adding a friend, you can find them in the Friends tab of the Friendship Notebook. To start playing together, make sure your friend is online. Select their name, then click the Visit option. You’ll automatically join the same public server as your friend, along with around 10 other players in the area.
While playing together, you can communicate using the Chat feature in the bottom-left corner of the screen. You can also use emoticons and emotes by tapping the smiley face icon on the right side of the screen, making interactions more lively and expressive.
As an alternative, you can create or join a private town. From the Title Screen, select the windmill icon to open the Town Menu. By creating your own town, you’ll get access to a private server that can be used for 1 to 24 hours.
Private Town Costs and System
To maintain a private town, you need to pay 5 Moonlight Crystals per hour. After the first 24 hours, the cost will switch to Heart Diamonds. Don’t worry—the timer resets every week, allowing you to plan your play sessions with friends more efficiently.
How to Become Best Friends in Heartopia
Two-player interactions, such as doing activities together, will reward you with Friendship Marks. The more often you interact, the higher your Friendship Level becomes. To speed up this process, visit Annie in the Central Square and purchase supporting items from the Friendshop Store. With enough marks, you and your friend can reach Best Friends status.
By following the steps above, playing Heartopia together is guaranteed to be a more enjoyable and meaningful experience. Happy playing!
