Huawei officially launched the Mate XT Ultimate Design, the world's first phone with a tri-fold screen. This innovation takes the user experience to a new level with a flexible screen that can be adjusted according to needs. Let's discuss its superior features.

Flexible Screen Transformation

The Huawei Mate XT offers a screen with a size that can change according to needs. When closed, this phone functions like a regular phone with a 6.4-inch FHD+ screen. When half-folded, a 7.9-inch 2K screen opens, perfect for watching videos or reading emails. However, the main feature appears when this phone is fully opened, revealing a 10.2-inch screen with 3K resolution, providing an experience like using a tablet or desktop.

This phone is only 3.6 mm thick when fully open and 12.8 mm when folded, slightly thicker than the Z Fold 6 which measures 12.1 mm. Additionally, Huawei claims a 25% increase in foldability over other foldable phones, although real-world testing will tell.

Strong Specs and Capable Camera

Huawei has not confirmed the Mate XT's processor specifications, but rumors suggest it could use the Kirin 9000 chip that is also found in the Pura 70 series. The Mate XT's camera system is quite sophisticated with a 50MP main sensor with a variable aperture of f/1.4 to f/4.0, plus a 12MP ultrawide lens and a 12MP periscope telephoto lens. On the front, there is an 8MP camera for selfies and video calls.

Despite its complex foldable design, Huawei has managed to install a 5600mAh battery with carbon silicon technology, claimed to be the thinnest in the world. This battery supports 66W fast charging via cable and 50W wirelessly.

Price and Availability

The Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design is available in two color options, Black and Red. The 16GB+256GB model is priced at 1.99.99 yuan (about $2,808), while the 16GB+512GB and 16GB+1TB models are priced at 2.19.99 yuan (about $3,089) and 2.39.99 yuan (about $3,370), respectively. The phone is already available for pre-order and will go on sale in China on September 20.
