After four weeks of dominating the weekend domestic box office, Spider-Man: No Way Home was finally beaten. What beats it is the recently released Scream movie. This iconic horror movie grossed $30.6 million in North America.

Quoted from Variety, Scream 2022, which is actually the fifth entry in the hack and slash franchise, generates more money than Spider-Man: No Way Home and is projected to increase in value.

This is the first Scream movie since Scream 4 which was released in 2011. No wonder the movie is highly anticipated by horror fans. Scream 2022 is a direct sequel to the events of Scream 4 and is also an important movie that will lay the groundwork for the franchise's future.

Besides new faces, the Scream 2022 movie brings back Neve Campbell's Sidney Prescott, Courteney Cox's Gale Weathers/Riley, and David Arquette's Dewey Riley. According to IGN, this movie is extraordinary.

There are so many things that come up that most people don't think about. Besides that, the story is quite tight, full of great performances, and has an impressive new direction. Despite Scream taking its place, overall Spider-Man: No Way Home has grossed $703.9 million over four weeks, making it the fourth highest-grossing domestic release in history.

The movie is behind only Avatar (US$760 million), Avengers: Endgame (US$858 million), and Star Wars: The Force Awakens (US$936 million). Spider-Man: No Way Home has earned more than US$900 million internationally and its total global revenue stands at US$1.62 billion.

Although in terms of overall revenue, Scream is still losing, what this movie did for the domestic Box Office this weekend deserves a thumbs up.
