Riot Games has announced VALORANT’s newest agent, Neon. Riot has also revealed her appearance and abilities with a trailer video uploaded last night (5/12). The production of Neon’s trailer has left fans amazed. The EDM soundtrack, Ylona Garcia’s “Entertain Me", suits really well with Neon’s futuristic appearance.
As we know, each VALORANT agent represents their own country of origin, and Neon comes from one of the countries in Southeast Asia, the Philippines (Manila, to be more exact). According to the trailer uploaded by Riot Games, Neon will be a lightning-fast Duelist.
If we look deeper into the trailer uploaded by Riot Games, we can get a good guess at what Neon’s abilities will be. However, we still have to wait for further details from Riot Games to confirm them.
Here are Neon’s abilities based on the trailer:
- Q: Throws a nade for an area explosion;
- E: Creates two blue walls (it’s still unclear whether or not it does damage)
- C: Slides
- Ultimate: Grants her buff and allows her to shoot enemies with electricity (DPS).
VALORANT Neon’s Trailer Breakdown
Of all the agents in the VALORANT Protocol, Neon seems to be the youngest. Aside from that, Neon is also known as a veteran worker for Kingdom and its humanitarian branch, K/SEC.
Actually, Riot Games has given a clue regarding Neon’s country of origin in the first teaser in the form of some binary code. The teaser contains the coordinates 14.5995° N, 120.9842° E, which lead to Manila.
In the video uploaded by Riot Games, we can see several of her personal items, such as a device with a Kingdom interface and other knickknacks, such as a picture of a dog.
We can also see a #5 basketball jersey. It’s still unclear if it’s just a jersey that Neon wears when she plays basketball or it’s an homage to one of Pilipinas basketball players.
if you have keen eyes, there’s also a snippet of Phoenix that has never been shown before by Riot Games. One of the well-known VALORANT leakers, @cynprel, speculates that this snippet is part of an upcoming cinematic from VALORANT. However, they aren’t sure when will it be released.
There’s also a part in the video that shows a green flame on Neon’s phone. The flame is still a mystery as some speculate that it’s Viper's. Some also believe that it belongs to Phoenix, yet because of the color effect on Neon’s phone, the flame turns green. But what about you? Who do you think the flame belongs to? Is it the next agent?
