The roster for Indonesia's MLBB national team for IESF 2025 has finally been revealed. This news has not come as a surprise, especially after the earlier announcement of the SEA Games national roster.

Indonesia’s MLBB national roster has usually been selected through an open process—whether by picking a pool of top players and narrowing it down, or using a similar method. But this year, things have been different.

The national team roster for IESF 2025 has been appointed directly, just like it has for the SEA Games. It seems PB ESI has not wanted to waste time on selection, seeing how other countries have already finalized their teams.

PB ESI has chosen Team Liquid ID (TLID) as the roster for the IESF 2025 MLBB national team. This same team will also be representing Indonesia in the 2025 SEA Games.

The reason has been clear: based on last season, TLID has won MPL ID Season 14 and has finished as runner-up at M6. That data has been used for the selection, without considering TLID’s performance in the current season.

Many criticisms have emerged regarding this direct appointment without a selection phase. Especially since TLID has struggled during parts of the MPL ID season before regaining its top form.

No one has known for sure what caused TLID’s performance dip, but it’s possible that they have undergone all the preparations for the national team before the announcement, which may have affected their league performance slightly.

Fortunately, TLID has rediscovered its top form and has qualified for the MPL ID Season 15 playoffs. Because of that, we will be able to track the national team's progress through the ongoing MPL season as well.

Regardless of who represents us, the hopes remain the same: may Indonesia achieve success and bring home the gold medal at both the 2025 SEA Games and IESF.

Their journey will be even more exciting to watch—especially considering that the biggest challenge is expected to come from the Philippines, while Malaysia’s representative is not one of their top teams.
