What Is “Poke”? Here Are Gaming Terms in Mobile Legends That You Should Know
For those who aren’t aware of the terms in Mobile Legends, you certainly don’t wanna skip this one!

In Mobile Legends and MOBA games, there are so many terms that players use to help them communicate better and most importantly, to help them communicate efficiently during the heat of the game.
There are several terms in Mobile Legends that players need to know so they can keep up with the rest of the team. What are those terms? Without further ado, let’s get into it!
Terms in Mobile Legends
AFK - Away From Keyboard, the player left the game;
Buff - An improvement/enhancement to in-game objects, like items or heroes;
Build - A set of items used by a hero;
CD - Cooldown;
Carry - A hero that leads the team to victory with their massive damage output, usually a Marksman;
Core - A role in Mobile Legends that use Retribution to focus on farming during the early game, gradually switches role into a Carry in the late game.
DC - Disconnected, similar to AFK where the player has left the game. But it refers specifically to a player who got a connection issue.
DPS - Damage Per Second, the amount of damage the hero generates each second;
Farm - Killing minions and/or jungle monsters to gain Gold and EXP;
Feeding - Refers to a behavior of a player who deliberately dies to feed the opposing team;
Gank - Refers to an ambush pulled off by multiple players against a target or targets;
Jungler - A role where the player takes control of the jungle area, such as farming in the jungle and is responsible for securing the objectives. Similar to Core;
Nerf - Refers to a reduction towards in-game objects or heroes;
KDA - An abbreviation for Kill, Death, and Assist;
KS - Kill Stealing, stealing the last hit from an ally to secure a kill;
META - An acronym of “Most Effective Tactics Available”;

Newbie - Refers to a player who’s completely new at a game;
Noob - An insult to imply a player that they played like a newbie;
Offlaner - A role where the players play in the Solo Lane/EXP Lane
OP - Over Powered, refers to a hero or heroes who are way too powerful and exceptionally difficult to defeat;
Poke - Shredding down a target’s health, usually using an ability/skill. In Mobile Legends, there are several heroes that focus on poking the opponents;
Push - Refers to an act of focusing on clearing waves of minions to take down the Turrets;
Roaming - Switching focus from one lane to another for ganks;
Split Push - A strategy, usually used when a team is behind, to sneakily push a lane;
TB - Tahan Badan (Tanking), usually refers to a Tank who acts as the team’s meatshield, taking the damage from the opposing team;
Toxic - A negative attitude that harms the team, usually refers to harsh languages to feeding;
Trolls - Refers to players who deliberately trying to get the rise of other players -- ruining the game for anyone involved even leads to a defeat.
