In the preliminary round for the 2022 Qatar World Cup which took place last night (23/11) at 20.00 WIB, Japan faced Germany. The course of the match between Japan vs Germany was quite interesting because it was similar to the plot in the anime Captain Tsubasa: Road to 2002!
Japan beat Germany with a final score of 2-1. In the said anime, from episodes 29 to 31, Japan faced off against Germany in the final round of the Junior Youth Tournament. The course of this match is quite similar to what happened last night. Initially, Germany scored a point, but Japan later managed to score and turn the tides around in the second half.
The events in the 20 years old anime actually happened in the real world. This was also Japan's first win over Germany in football history. Previously, Saudi Arabia's victory over Argentina 2-1 was also widely associated with one of the characters from Captain Tsubasa, Mark Owairan who was the captain of the Saudi Arabia team. This year’s World Cup is totally unexpected!
