The Sriwijaya Esports team has made a remarkable mark in the competitive Free Fire Indonesia landscape by clinching the title of champion at the Free Fire Nusantara Series (FFNS) 2025 held in Medan, North Sumatra. Their victory came as a surprise to many.
With a roster featuring prominent players like SWJ JOEL and Obeey, Sriwijaya Esports triumphed over several renowned teams, including KRAKEN Esports, DEWA United Apollo, and MBR Epsilon, as well as various semi-pro and community teams that participated in the tournament.
Guided by the young coach Bulee, who has experience competing in the tier 1 Free Fire Masters League (FFML) with Tangcity Esports (TCE), Sriwijaya Esports is now poised to take on the FFWS SEA Spring 2025 as the champions of FFNS 2025.
In a recent episode of the Behind The Gloo Wall (BGW) podcast, Bulee and Joel from Sriwijaya Esports engaged in a conversation with caster Adji Sven and former pro player Regi “MR05” Pratama. What insights and discussions unfolded between them regarding their championship win at FFNS 2025?
Denying Allegations of Collaboration with Other Teams, Sriwijaya Esports Wins FFNS 2025 Honestly and Fairly
During a discussion with Adji Sven and MR05, it was disclosed that the Sriwijaya Esports and Vesakha Esports teams seem to share a "close relationship." Adji Sven supported this claim with arguments and evidence directed at Bulee and Joel.
"You guys were also champions yesterday, and there seemed to be some intrigue regarding the map where DEWA faced Vesakha. From what I understand, Vesakha has a close connection with Sriwijaya, especially since you (Joel) were once part of Vesakha. Is this relationship a factor in your success, or is it merely a coincidence?" Adji Sven inquired.
In response, Joel clarified that it was purely coincidental and that there had been no behind-the-scenes discussions about the match's technical aspects.
"I believe it was just a coincidence. There was no prior discussion; we focused on our own teams and had our individual objectives," Joel stated.
MR05, serving as co-host, echoed Joel's sentiments, emphasizing that despite being under the same management, each team maintains professionalism and prioritizes their own goals.
"I can't say much about the nature of their relationship. I agree with Joel that during the Grand Final, we all had different objectives—some aimed for the championship, while others had nothing to lose," MR05 remarked. "As a former pro player, I have friends on other teams, but that doesn't affect my focus. We are professionals first and foremost; regardless of friendships or family ties, they are my competitors, and I strive to be the best," he added.
Adji Sven then sought clarification on whether Vesakha and Sriwijaya Esports are indeed managed by the same organization. Bulee, the coach, confirmed this, stating that both teams are indeed under the same management.
"Yes, they are managed by the same organization (Vesakha & Sriwijaya)," Bulee explained.
Bulee echoed Joel's earlier comments by emphasizing that, as a coach, he saw no signs of 'collaboration' with Vesakha's coach, JimmyJV.
"I'm confident there is no evidence of cooperation," he stated.
Adji Sven, the host, wrapped up the discussion by clarifying that his intention was to ensure that, despite Vesakha and Sriwijaya Esports being part of the same management, both teams are committed to playing honestly and fairly, without any signs of 'collaboration' for specific objectives.
