Kagaya is also the leader of the Hashira a group that protects humans from demons. He's widely regarded as a master and strategist in Demon Slayer Corps.

As mentioned above, Kagaya suffers from a very rare disease. However, this illness is actually a curse that has been passed down through generations. It’s a curse inflicted on his family due to them birthing the original demon, Muzan Kibutsuji.

5. Kagaya’s Relation to Muzan

Muzan, the most powerful demon, is actually related to Kagaya. Some are not aware that both Muzan and Kagaya come from the Ubuyashiki bloodline. When Muzan finally meets Kagaya, he mocks him for being blind. Kagaya asks his wife to describe Muzan. Muzan says that Kagaya is dying and also points out that he already smells like a corpse. Muzan wants to live forever but is also afraid that he’ll die at the hands of a human.

6. A Calm and Loving Individual

As the leader of the Demon Slayer Corps, Kagaya always looks calm and shows genuine care for the members of the corps. He even considers all of the members as his own children. He also possesses a very good memory. Despite his physical weaknesses, which make him unable to become a Demon Slayer, he overcomes them with his mind and excellent tactical understanding. He leads Demon Slayer on their missions and assigns the members for these missions and everyone follows his orders respectfully.

Kagaya became the leader of the Demon Slayer Corps when he was just 4. His family has been fighting the demons as the Ubuyashikis take Muzan as their responsibility. 

To atone themselves for giving birth to the original demon, the Ubuyashiki family dedicate their lives to fighting Muzan, which caused every member of the Ubuyashiki family with a curse mark that makes them unable to live past 30. 

8. He Possesses Supernatural Abilities and Foresight

Despite his inability to see and even walk, Kagaya makes it up with his soothing voice. He can put others at ease with the tone of his voice and make them follow his order. On top of that, members of the Ubuyashiki family have a heightened level of foresight that allows them to avoid disastrous situations. 

Kagaya possesses excellent foresight that allows him to predict the future. He also predicted that Muzan couldn’t be killed by being decapitated, and can only be killed with sunlight.

9. Kagaya's Death

Kagaya Ubuyashiki is one of the characters in Kimetsu no Yaiba who will die. In Chapter 138 of the manga, Kagaya sacrifices himself alongside his wife to lure Muzan Kibutsuji before blowing himself up.

10. He Indirectly Disbanded the Demon Slayer Corps

After the death of Muzan and every demon, the Ubuyashiki family finally fulfilled their duty in the Demon Slayer Corps. Kagaya died for the cause, and shortly after that, his son, Kiriya, decided to disband the Demon Slayer Corps

Kiriya said that the Demon Slayer Corps was created to eradicate the demons. Since there are no longer demons roaming the earth, his family decided to disband the corps as the objective has been accomplished.
