A drama came from the online chess scene. An international chess master, GothamChess, was defeated by an Indonesian middle-aged man, who’s the father of a man named Ali Akbar.

The story began when Ali Akbar’s father, Dadang Subur, was playing an online game of chess at Chess.com. However, he encountered GothamChess, an International Master with 2,400 ELO. Aside from being known as an International Master, Gotham Chess is also a Twitch streamer and a YouTube content creator with 700k subscribers.

Dadang got into a chess match with Gotham Chess, and the match was watched by thousands of viewers during his Twitch live stream. In an upset, GothamChess was defeated by Dadang, who was using his account Dewa_Kipas.

Somehow, a group of disappointed GothamChess fans reported Dewa_Kipas and accused him of cheating, which resulted in Dadang’s account got banned.

Surely the whole incident made Ali Akbar furious. He expressed his frustration on a Facebook post, detailing the chronology before his father got his account banned.

In his Facebook post, he also stated that his father is a former professional chess player. However, ever since he found online chess games, his father had played 232 matches with 90 defeats and 10 draws -- with an ELO of 2,300.

Ali Akbar and Gotham Chess Have Settled the Issue

According to Ali Akbar’s latest Facebook update, he and GothamChess have made peace. He also agreed to delete the previous post, which contains his remarks related to the banned Dewa_Kipas account. He also clarified some points regarding the account, one of which was the reason how his father managed to reach 2,300 ELO in just three weeks, and Dewa_Kipas’ movement accuracy, which reaches 90%.

Though he has made peace with Gotham Chess, it’s still unclear whether Dewa_Kipas is still banned.

Old man with a child brain. Going to do everything just to impress his fans. This author probably got paid to suck his elephant trunk. He claims himself a Super GM and can't even beat a wgm in OTB. Just look at that face, he looks so professional in cheating. He probably did something worse in his life but ofcourse he is not going to admit it. He is really good at lying.
