If you are a MOBA player, then terms such as noob or GG may sound familiar to you. But gacha games have terms that may sound less familiar to you. If you are a gacha game player, then you should know these terms. Check them out!
1. Bad Pulls
In gacha games, players are racing with each other to gain the new/strongest characters from gacha. Gacha is considered a success when a player receives those characters. When those players failed, they will call it a bad pull.
Character rarity in a gacha game usually divided into N, R, SR, and SSR. Bad pulls are gacha that resulted in anything below SSR.
2. Whale
In a game, the word whale is used to describe players that invested money to play, or as most people call it pay-to-win. Whales usually have a bigger chance of getting their desired characters. This, of course, is done by spending money to buy gems for gacha.
Whales usually dominate the ranks, both arena rank and event rank. Are you a whale, or are you a free-to-play player?
3. Salty
Salty is the term used to describe what players are feeling upon seeing other players get good pulls. When those players see that others are getting good pulls, they usually made a facial expression similar to when they are eating something with tons of salt. Becoming a victim of salty also becomes the reason why gacha game player retired.
4. RNG
RNG or random number generator is the counting system in gacha games. RNG is what players call the luck. Good pulls or bad pulls depend on your RNG. Similar to how critical damage pops up in a battle or how rare item drops.
Every character in a gacha banner has a rate. For example, you have a 1% chance to pull character A. RNG is what decides whether you get the character or not.
5. Farming
The term farming doesn’t just exist in MOBA games; it also exists in gacha games. During certain game events, players are required to keep on playing, they refer to it as farming. The purpose of farming is to gather a specific item in a large number so they can trade it for the price.
Most gacha games have a stage that forces the player to farm so they can get stronger. But be aware, spending too much time on farming leads to players getting bored and decides to retire.
