Blue Lock is an anime that follows Japan Football Union’s effort in creating the best Striker in the world to help the country dominate the international stage under the direction of the eccentric Jinpachi Ego. Ego’s method is rather unique: he emphasizes the importance of being egotistical to Blue Lock players if they want to be the best Striker ever.

Aside from that, to be the most egotistical Striker, one needs a high level of confidence. In Blue Lock, there are numerous talented players who have their respective playstyles and “weapons”. Here are Blue Lock characters who are self-assured with their own abilities. Without further ado, let’s get into it.

Blue Lock: Most Self-Assured Characters

7. Tsurugi Zantetsu

Zantetsu may not be an intelligent player, yet he’s one of the best on Team V, and probably the fastest one in Blue Lock. Zantetsu doesn’t seem to know much about a lot of things, but at least he knows that he’s a good player, and that’s all he cares about. Zantetsu has so much faith in his abilities as a player. However, he’s not the brightest despite wearing his glasses. He often uses words that he actually doesn’t really understand.

6. Rensuke Kunigami

Rensuke Kunigami possesses incredible physique, thanks to his rigorous training and determination when it comes to football. On the pitch, he may be an offensive threat to the opposing team, but he is actually a kind-hearted individual who always believes in his ability as a footballer, and upholds sportsmanship.

The player who boasts an amazing goal percentage from mid-range is not arrogant, yet he's confident and is always willing to be a good teammate. However, he is not a hotheaded, selfish player like Raichi. He has no problem stepping back and letting others shine if it means the team can win the match.

5. Jingo Raichi

Used to be part of Team Z alongside Yoichi Isagi, Raichi has an excessive level of confidence. This is actually a double-edged sword for him. The first example of his arrogance is when he managed to steal the ball from his own team-mates in the earlier part of Blue Lock.

However, being part of the team with Isagi opened his eyes to what he can achieve as a teammate, although he is still an individual who believes in his own greatness. Although he still seems to struggle toning down his aggressive behaviors, his aggressiveness is actually his biggest strength and a great asset for his team.

4. Seishiro Nagi

Nagi may have only been playing football for six months, yet he’s undoubtedly one of the most talented players Isagi has met in Blue Lock. His impeccable first touch is his biggest asset that helps him beat any player.

Nagi is confident with his own abilities, yet he’s not arrogant or even exaggerate his quality. He knows he has what it takes to score goals, and enjoys playing in crucial moments to challenge himself as a player. Nagi isn’t the type of player who’s full of himself. His confidence comes from sheer facts. He’s also realistic enough to recognize that there are still opponents who are levels above him.

3. Meguru Bachira

Bachira's confidence is unrivaled in Blue Lock. He’s even confident with his own body as he doesn’t mind standing without clothes in front of his teammates. On the pitch, Bachira is even more confident about his abilities. Bachira is a player with the best dribbling abilities in Blue Lock. And he’s well aware of it. He even knows how to use his creativity in dribbling the ball to his benefit.

2. Shoei Barou

His excessive self-confidence can actually do harm for Barou. His physique may be superior to others and his natural gift may be the reason for his self-assurance, yet he tends to let it grows into arrogance. This leads to his self-centered play style that relies solely on his abilities as an individual. Despite the fact that he’s an extraordinary player, football is a team sport in which no player can beat a 11-men team.

1. Itoshi Rin

Even from the first time he was introduced to viewers in Blue Lock, it's clear that Rin is confident about his abilities. When the rest of the players were too nervous to be the first to take the step into the second stage, Rin confidently walked through the door without hesitation. While overconfident players tend to overestimate their abilities, Rin knows well that he's the best player in the project. Rin possesses the skills and talent to back up his high confidence.

So, those were the most self-assured players in Blue Lock. These players are confident about their abilities and what they have to offer for their team.
