The Dark Continent is one of the most mysterious places in Hunter X Hunter, a place where only a few characters ever set their foot. The Dark Continent is a place outside the reach of the Known World.

The Dark Continent is home to some of the strangest species in Hunter X Hunter, such as the Chimera Ants. Most of them who have been to the Dark Continent often died there.

However, some others actually survived the island — and here are 5 characters in Hunter X Hunter who survived the Dark Continent.

1. Zigg Zoldyck

Zigg Zoldyck is a member of the Zoldyck family from Kukuroo Mountain. Although very little is known about him, it is said that he went to the Dark Continent at some point during his youth. Stating the place is not worth conquering and exploring.

His powers and everything else about him remain a mystery. However, the fact that he was chosen to venture to the Dark Continent proves that he is indeed one of the strongest people in the entire series.

2. Isaac Netero

As one of the strongest characters in the entire Hunter x Hunter series, it's not too surprising to learn that Isaac Netero has been to the Dark Continent. It was Netero who led the expedition to the Dark Continent when Zzigg Zoldyck went to that place.

Netero, alongside the people who accompanied him, decided to return to the Known World and learned that the place was too vast and unknown to be completely conquered by humans.

Given his level of ability, Netero wouldn't have any problem surviving the Dark Continent, but it's a different thing to explore the entire place.

3. Beyond Netero

Beyond Netero is Isaac Netero’s son. And just like his father, he’s an influential figure. Despite most of his abilities still being unknown, Beyond secretly traveled to the Dark Continent in the past and failed to explore the entire island.

He managed to survive and now is planning another expedition to the Dark Continent, trying to completely conquer it. Considering Beyond's abilities, there is a possibility that he is able to do what his father couldn't, and conquer the Dark Continent in the next arc.

4. Ging Freecss

Gon's father, Ging Freecss, is one of the strongest Hunters in Hunter x Hunter. He is a respected figure that even Netero acknowledges his greatness. So, someone with his skills is most likely able to survive in the Dark Continent.

Ging is currently on his way to the island, so it will be interesting to see whether he will be able to survive that place. He has previously been mentioned as one of the 5 strongest Nen users in the story.

5. Zeno Zoldyck

One of Netero's friends and the father of Silva Zoldyck, Zeno is a notorious assassin, infamously known for his unmatched killer instinct. Even though he had never been to the Dark Continent, he was definitely strong enough to go there and survive.
