Dubai has been officially appointed as the host city for the Red Bull Tetris World Final. The iconic puzzle game world championship will be held on December 11-13, 2025, with a specially designed format and gaming experience.

After months of national qualifiers in 60 countries, this grand event will crown a historic winner under the desert skies of Dubai, in a spectacle never before seen in the gaming world.

This tournament marks the culmination of a long journey that began with millions of games played on mobile devices during the qualifying rounds. Qualified participants then competed in PC-based National Finals, with the chosen champions ultimately representing their respective countries at this inaugural World Final.

“When I created Tetris in 1984, I never imagined the game would evolve into a global cultural icon,” said Alexey Pajitnov, the creator of Tetris. 

“One of my dreams was to see Tetris played with drones, and I’m thrilled it’s finally come to fruition. Red Bull Tetris® truly embodies the spirit of innovation and energy we share, taking the game to a level never before achieved,” he added.

To reach the final round, national champions will compete for a full day at Terra Solis, a desert transformed into a competition arena. They will go through a preliminary round to determine their seedings before entering the 1v1 semi-finals. The two strongest players will advance to the grand final on December 13, where the winner will be crowned world champion.

In addition to the competition, the Red Bull Tetris® World Final will feature a musical performance by the Firdaus Orchestra, a female-based music ensemble from the UAE, along with other special guest performances. The event will then close with a drone show by Lumasky, one of the world's leading drone show providers that has broken numerous Guinness records and performed in over 40 countries. 

With Lumasky's technology, the Dubai sky will transform into a giant Tetris game canvas that can be played live, creating a truly new experience for both spectators and players.
