Every anime has its own storyline, and it is not that unusual for anime to have some deaths. Just like in real life, the deaths of anime characters are inevitable. The best way to remember and honor some of the characters in an anime is to end their story in a glorious way. Especially when fans have such a strong affinity for the character. 1. Rengoku Kyojuro - Demon Slayer
Rengoku managed to steal the hearts of the fans with his charismatic personality and great commitment to truth, justice, and loyalty. His battle with the Upper Rank Demon, Akaza, was a relentless battle of deadly blows and his superhuman stamina. Rengoku was willing to take blow after blow to protect Tanjiro and Inosuke.
Rengoku's death is one of the saddest deaths that left the deepest wound on fans. Especially when he sits during his final moments facing Tanjiro and Inosuke and reassuring them of their strength. He died smiling, which makes it one of the most honorable deaths in anime.
2. Carla Yeager - Attack On Titan
Carla Yeager's death is one of the most gruesome deaths in the earlier parts of the series. Once the Titans broke through Wall Maria for the first time in 100 years and wreaked havoc on the Shiganshina District, the townspeople were scattered, running in fear. Eren, who was still really young at the time, found his mother trapped under a falling house beam. Later on, Captain Hannes arrived to save Carla and her children. Yet Carla begged Hannes to leave her and save the children instead. Hannes then took Eren and Mikasa away, whereas Carla was being pulled from the wreckage by a Titan and then eaten before her young son's eyes.
3. Baji - Tokyo Revengers
Baji made a selfless sacrifice to protect his childhood friend, Kazutora. Despite the complex relationship between Kazutora and Toman's members, Baji always had Kazutora's back. Baji always understood Kazutora's different perceptions that can't be understood well by the other Toman members.
In a massive gang war, Mikey was beating Kazutora relentlessly before Baji got up and stopped Mikey. But then he later found out that he's been stabbed with a knife. Baji was losing so much blood, but he managed to free Kazutora from making an action that he would regret later on, as well as free Mikey from killing Kazutora in retaliation. His immense love for his childhood friend led to his own demise, but it was clearly a sacrifice he was willing to make.

4. Erwin - Attack On Titan
One of the most shocking moments in the series is Erwin's death. Erwin, who believed that the secrets of the world were more important than mankind's victory against the Titans, drove him to Shiganshina to find out the secrets of the world in the basement of Eren's childhood house. Erwin felt great guilt for having sacrificed many of his men for the ambition of finding out the secrets of the world.
Erwin led the front line in the battle for Wall Maria against the Beast Titan. During his final moments after fighting the Beast Titan, Erwin asked Levi to give the injection to the right person, Levi ultimately chose to save Armin. For Levi, life would still be hell for Erwin as he would continue to suffer seeing his comrades die. So, Levi decided not to save Erwin to let him die peacefully.
5. Isaac Netero - Hunter X Hunter
The head of the Hunter Association in the Hunter x Hunter series made a huge sacrifice to save mankind. By sacrificing himself, he managed to stop the king of the Chimera Ants from taking over the world. After reaching an agreement to have a duel far away from humans, Netero showed his nen "100-Type Guanyin Bodhisattva". Despite successfully pushing the villain down numerous times, in the end, Netero was defeated by the speed and power of the ant king. Luckily, Netero had a bomb embedded in his heart and managed to detonate Mereum along with him. Netero's death is one of the most heroic sacrifices in anime.
6. Light - Death Note
Kira's identity was finally revealed by L's successor, Near. Light's identity of being the mastermind behind every murder was revealed, and he couldn't make another move as his secret had been exposed. At the end of his life, Light was very desperate, and cowardly, and finally showed his weak side as a human. During his last breath, while sustaining multiple gunshot wounds, Shinigami Ryuk writes Light's name on his Death Note, which marks the end of Light's God Complex.
7. Jiraiya - Naruto Shippuden
Despite knowing well about the risks he would face when investigating Akatsuki and Pain by himself in Naruto Shippuden, he still bravely carried out the important mission. Jiraiya, who was the mentor of Naruto Uzumaki, managed to get a special place in the hearts of fans of this series. Jiraiya's death at the hands of Pain was one of the most shocking and heartbreaking deaths. In his final moments, he made sure to send Fukasaku to Konoha with his final message revealing how to defeat Pain.
