The Indonesia Kings Laga (IKL) Spring 2025 competition has now reached its third week, and it's crucial for each team to strengthen their standings as they aim for the playoff round. Currently, all teams are experiencing fluctuations in their performance as they continue to adapt. 

However, a few teams have shown consistent and impressive performances, allowing us to identify potential playoff contenders. The shifting dynamics in the middle to lower ranks of the temporary standings have certainly added an interesting twist to the competition. 

Three teams currently occupying the 3rd to 5th positions are fiercely competing to either catch up with the top two teams or to secure the last playoff spot. ONIC, however, is a team that still needs to improve in the IKL Spring 2025. 

In the initial weeks, ONIC's performance has not met expectations. As a well-known team, many fans are hopeful that the squad led by Satrya "Butsss" Sanubari will turn things around. Unfortunately, the results have not been favorable for ONIC so far in this season. 

The ongoing streak of losses is a challenge that needs to be addressed if ONIC hopes to make it to the playoffs. Additionally, ONIC is one of the partner teams for the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025. ONIC achieves their first win at IKL Spring 2025 by defeating Vesakha Esports!

In the third week of IKL Spring 2025, on Saturday, April 26, ONIC Esports faced off against Vesakha Esports once again. Their previous encounter in the first week ended in a loss for ONIC, while Vesakha had gained momentum after defeating Mahadewa.

ONIC started the week with a loss to TALON, increasing the pressure on Butsss and his team to bounce back. However, they still had a chance to win against Vesakha.

In the first game, ONIC showcased an impressive performance, quickly dismantling most of Vesakha's defense turrets in under 10 minutes, thanks to strong teamwork. Despite their dominance, they couldn't finish the game swiftly. A significant teamfight at Vesakha's base in the 11th minute allowed ONIC to secure game 1.

Game 2 saw ONIC continue their dominance, leaving Vesakha looking bewildered. Pei and Sun Ce made crucial contributions, and ONIC's teamwork shone through as they took down Vesakha players one by one. Once again, they opened the path to victory in under 10 minutes, but struggled to close the game quickly.

Vesakha attempted to play defensively to prolong the match, but ONIC secured the 3rd Overlord and executed a decisive push, leading to the downfall of two Vesakha players. Ultimately, ONIC achieved their first victory in IKL Spring 2025.

The 2-0 win against Vesakha marked a comeback for Butsss and his teammates, filling them with pride. In the post-match interview, Butsss shared his excitement about finally having the opportunity to participate in the session. "I didn't realize there was an interview here! It's my first time trying this out," he remarked.

Butsss also mentioned that ONIC faced challenges in the IKL Spring 2025 due to a lack of 'luck' in their matches. "Perhaps it's just that we haven't had our luck yet," he added. He went on to discuss how the team is working to strengthen their synergy with their new Jungler, AZ1, noting that they are still in the process of getting to know each other. "That's part of the challenge since AZ1 joined us only after the first week, so we need to adapt both in and out of the game,"

"Right now, we're focusing on aligning our strategies, especially with AZ1 as our main Jungler, while we continue to practice online until Rinko arrives," he explained. In conclusion, Butsss expressed his optimism about leading ONIC to greater heights in the IKL Spring 2025. "When it comes to confidence, I’m definitely confident in the team. We need to stay positive, whether we win or lose, so please support us and don’t be negative, okay?" he said as he wrapped up the interview.
