Silvers Rayleigh or sometimes known as the Dark King, was a crew member of Roger Pirate. He has several facts that you might not know yet. Read the facts about Silvers Rayleigh below!

1. Luffy’s Mentor

As the trusted member of the Pirate King, Rayleigh’s strength is not to be taken lightly. Rayleigh masters all kinds of Haki and trains Luffy for 2 years to ensure that Luffy can master all types of Haki.

Rayleigh recognizes Luffy’s potential, so he intends to trust the new pirate era to him. This is the reason why Rayleigh trains Luffy and teaches him all kinds of things. If Roger saw this, he is going to be happy since Luffy is the man that inherit his spirit.

2.Loves Sake and Woman

The statement that Rayleigh loves sake and woman was told by Shakky when they are in Sabaody. When saving Carrie that was almost sold by the human trafficker, Rayleigh was seen carrying a bottle containing alcohol. This is one of his similarities with Roronoa Zoro that also acts as the vice-captain in the Straw Hat Pirate.

3. Has an Active Bounty

After he decides to retire as a pirate, the marines should’ve deactivated his bounty. But up until this point, the World Government still keeps Rayleigh’s bounty active. The amount of his bounty is still unknown.

This was proven when Rayleigh fights Kizar and asks him to erase his bounty. The reason being Rayleigh wants a peaceful post-retirement life without having to fight against the Marines. He believes that now, Luffy can carry the pirates’ era.

4. Rayleigh’s Name in Roger’s Group

You know that he was a member of Roger’s crew, but there is one thing that you might not notice. Gol D. Roger is the main man in the crew since he is the captain, while Rayleigh is the second-in-command in the crew.

If we take a look at their names, Gold and Silver indicate their ranking in the crew, and Roger’s position is above Rayleigh. Both have a good relationship. Even Rayleigh cried when reminiscing the past where he met Rogers for the first time.

5. Inspired by a Real-Life Pirate

A real-life pirate named Sir Walter Raleigh becomes the inspiration of Oda when creating Silvers Rayleigh. Sir Walter Raleigh was an explorer in the 16th century. He can always guess that any important characters in One Piece are inspired by real-life characters.
