The official website of the anime adaptation of Yasuhisa Hara's manga Kingdom announced that the first episode of the fifth installment of the Kingdom anime series has been delayed and will air on January 14th 2024 at 00:15 JST.
The premiere episode, which was supposed to air on January 7th 2024 at 00:00 JST on the NHK General channel, had to be postponed due to NHK's news coverage of the New Year's Day earthquake in Noto Peninsula, Ishikawa Prefecture.
The latest season of the Kingdom anime series features a combination of new and returning cast members. DeNeel performed the opening theme song titled "Shirubebi," while Novel Core performed the closing theme song titled "RULERS."
Some new names are also present in the lineup, including Kentaro Ito as Kan Ki/Huan Yi, Haruka Nagamine as Koku'ou, Kenji Nomura as Raido, Motoki Sakuma as Ma Ron/Mo Lun, Katsuyuki Konishi as Na Ki, Taku Yashiro as Rin Gyoku, Takehiro Hasu as Zenou, Kōji Ishii as Ki Sui/Ji Hui, Kenta Miyake as Ba Tei/Ma Cheng, and Yoshihisa Kawahara as Ryuu Tou/Liu Dong.
Kingdom, a historical manga by Yasuhisa Hara, tells the story of Xin, a slave with dreams of becoming a great general for the state of Qin. Xin helps Ying Zheng, the viceroy of Qin who aspires to unify China, achieve power within his country.
With his determination, Xin strives to become the superior commander of an army capable of defeating the Seven Warring States. The record-breaking Kingdom manga was first published in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine in 2006.
