After the latest HoK (Honor of Kings) patch update on May 1, 2025, players have received a new hero named Bai Qi. This tank hero is a scary specter for HoK players in ranked, because it is one of the best choices in the clash lane and jungle at this time.

Pro Player Comments About Hero Bai Qi

GuiYu, a clash laner from Dominator Esports, doesn't hesitate to call Bai Qi a potential pick in tournaments. “In my opinion, this hero will be one of the regular picks. Looking at his strength, he can be used as a jungler or a tank,” GuiYu said confidently.

Dominator Esports' coach, Susu Gajah, added that Bai Qi's main strength lies in his ability to open the fight very effectively.

“This hero is really dangerous, especially when played in the jungle or clash lane. For players who have a high initiator spirit and are good at finding moments, Bai Qi is a deadly weapon. He can immediately engage and capture the back heroes,” he explained. 

Likewise, Butsss, clash laner from ONIC Esports sees Bai Qi as a fairly flexible hero. “Hero Bai Qi is good, tough. But in my opinion, he is more dominant in the jungle than the clash lane,” he said.  “I haven't really used him myself, but I see in KPL, most of them play him in the jungle.”

Bai Qi's Weakness

Even so, Susu Gajah thinks Bai Qi still has weaknesses. “His weakness is in kiting. If he already jumps using ulti, his enemies can escape easily.”

More fully, the player from Bigetron Esports, Tufzzz, thinks that Bai Qi has difficulty against agile marksmen. “For marksman opponents who have dash skills, Bai Qi is a bit difficult. It's hard to chase, so you can only rely on ulti,” he said.

Tufzzz thinks Bai Qi could be an interesting choice in a rank match. “If the jungler is an assassin, it's perfect to pick Bai Qi because he already fills one tank slot. For rank, this is a really good hero,” he said.

Even so, for competitive affairs, the players agree that Bai Qi is not a safe first pick.

“For playoffs, he can be a really surprising 'cheese pick'. But I don't think it's an okay option in the first or second game, because there are many other clash laners who rotate faster like Sun Ce,” one of them explained.

About Bai Qi

Bai Qi is a General from Yong who acts as a fighting tank. This hero has very aggressive skills and is suitable for an offensive playstyle. His passive stacks purple whenever he deals or takes damage, which restores HP and increases movement speed.

Skill 1 deals area damage via weapon swing and can be held for greater effect. Skill 2 draws enemies towards him, disrupting the opponent's formation. His ultimate makes Bai Qi jump to the target area and inflicts a stun. With a short cooldown, he can continue to pressure opponents without pause.
