2024 League of Legends MSI Venue

The 2024 League of Legends MSI will indeed be coming to Chengdu, China, starting from 1-19 May 2024. There are at least 12 teams from various regions of the world who will attend this global tournament.

The venue for this tournament is located at the Chengdu Financial City Performing Arts Center, North Tianfu Avenue, Chengdu, China.

2024 LoL MSI Format

For the first time, the MSI winning team will get a direct ticket to Worlds, which will also be counted as an additional quota for their region. Then, regions that have very good performance at MSI will also get additional seeds for their region. So, to ensure that teams that qualify early for Worlds remain committed to success in their home league, they still have to qualify for the Summer Playoffs in their region.

1. Quota Distribution for the 2024 MSI

• 2 teams from each LPL, LCK, LCS, and LEC
• 1 team from each of LLA, CBLOL, PCS, and VCS

2. Play-In Stage

This round will start with second seeds from LCK, LPL, LEC, and LCS, along with first seeds from LLA, CBLOL, PCS, and VCS, for a total of 8 teams. They will be divided into two, and compete in a double-elimination bracket format and a best-of-three (Bo3) series. Later, the teams in first and second place in each bracket will qualify for the next round.

Later, these four teams will join the remaining four teams, namely from the first seed LCK, LPL, LEC, and LCS, for a total of 8 teams in the Bracket. They will compete in four matches with a single best-of-five (Bo5) double-elimination bracket. With the culmination of the Grand Final on May 19 2024 to confirm the champion.
