Gabe Newell aka Lord Gaben is reportedly sending his own Steam Deck portable PC to buyers. He also gave his signature to this portable PC. According to reports, Gaben is shipping the device across the Seattle area to celebrate the release of the first batch of Steam Decks.
While getting Steam Decks isn't as difficult as getting a PS5 or Xbox Series X, they're still a fairly rare commodity. Of course, this way there are some gamers who have a special Steam Deck because it has Gaben's signature plus the device was delivered by someone who owns the Valve company.
Reddit user, bitfiddler0, was one of those lucky gamers where he showed off his signed Steam Deck on the Steam subreddit. Despite having the honor of having a signed Steam Deck, bitfiddler missed the meeting with Gabe Newell because he was not at home at the time of delivery.
“Yesterday I got an email that looked like spam saying that Steam Deck shipment arrived a few days early and mine could be delivered tomorrow if someone was home to sign it. To be honest I was skeptical and didn't have any expectations," he said.
“I told my wife to keep an eye on deliveries while I went on a full day ski trip with friends,” he continued.
It was later discovered that it was Gabe Newell himself who delivered the package. It's certainly a great experience where other Deck users on Reddit also apparently received the device delivered directly by Gaben.
