Gear Five is Luffy's newest and strongest form that appeared during his fight against Kaido. In this form, Luffy can do anything that we consider impossible. One thing that caught the attention of readers here is the glasses that Luffy wore in Gear Five form. Where did he get the glasses?

In Shonen Jump magazine issue 49, Eiichiro Oda answered questions from fans to fill his absence from the One Piece manga for 2 weeks. The first question read "In Gear Fifth mode, Luffy is able to create objects such as glasses and baseball helmets from something like "Hagoromo" (furry clothes). Please tell me how it works!"

In response to this question, Oda only answered "It is the entrance to Nika's fantasy". From Oda's answer, we can conclude that the glasses are one of the objects created from Luffy's fantasy in Gear Five form. It is indeed difficult to understand, but that is what Oda explained indirectly.

Gear Five allows Luffy to do anything through his fantasy using the power of the Sun God Nika. Because of that, he was able to defeat the almost invincible Kaido.
