One of the VCT Challengers teams from the NA region, M80, is getting rumors about the salaries of its players participating in Valorant Challengers. M80's Valorant division is currently competing in Valorant Challengers 2025 NA, and managed to qualify for the playoffs.

M80 reportedly dropped out of its participation in Challengers Stage 2 before the playoffs began on May 20, 2025.

M80 Not Paying Player Salaries?

This news was revealed by the X account owned by a Valorant freelance reporter, @AkamaruVal, on Wednesday (5/14). In his tweet, Thomas said that M80 has not paid player salaries since last year, and the players have asked Riot Games to help.

“According to sources, M80 has been struggling to pay its players. This has been the case since last year when players had to ask Riot Games to step in to get their salaries. Currently, there are still players who have not been paid and are working with the Players Association to get salaries,” wrote @AkamaruVal in translation.

M80 Quits Valorant Challengers NA

The Valorant reporter also mentioned that M80 will no longer compete in Valorant Challengers, precisely before the Stage 2 playoffs begin. 

“Sources with @arivalorantt: M80 will exit the competitive VALORANT scene before the Challengers Stage 2 playoffs. M80 has been the premier organization in Tier 2 since the inception of the partnership league. They're also worried about returning this year during the offseason,” he said.

M80 is known to have competed in Valorant Challengers NA since Split 1 2023. The American team features Kyu, Bao, Victor, reserve player Wedid, as well as SyykoNT (manager), and Chet (head coach), two of whom are former NRG players.
