Fans of the Blue Exorcist manga will have to be patient for a while as the series will go on hiatus for a month. This announcement came from the official Twitter account of Kazue Kato's Blue Exorcist manga. The reason is that the mangaka is recovering from a COVID-19 infection.

The manga is scheduled to return in the December issue of Shueisha's Jump SQ. magazine. In addition, Kazue Kato also announced that the planned autograph signing event will be postponed until January 2024.

Blue Exorcist has been one of the most beloved manga since it began serialization in 2009 in Jump SQ. However, the series has gone on hiatus before, most notably in July 2021, which was then resumed in May 2022.

In early 2023, the manga also went on hiatus in January and returned in May 2023. The 29th volume of the manga was released on July 4. For those who love the story, Blue Exorcist has been translated into multiple languages including English by Viz Media.

The story follows the journey of Rin Okumura, who was raised by Father Fujimoto, a famous exorcist. Rin eventually learns that he is the child of Satan, the demon king, and vows to defeat him. To do so, he must enter the mysterious True Cross Academy and become an exorcist. However, keeping the secret of his infernal ancestry is no easy feat.

Blue Exorcist has also inspired various anime adaptations, including its first season series that aired in 2011, several OVAs, and a feature movie. In 2017, Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga also aired as a follow-up series.

Fans can also look forward to a new anime series announced in December 2022, titled Blue Exorcist: Shimane Illuminati Saga, which is scheduled to air in 2024. The franchise also includes various novels and stage shows that have expanded the story world of this exorcism.
