Happinet has just announced that the wildly popular manga, Mao-gun Saikyo no Majutsushi wa Ningen Datta (The Strongest Magician in the Demon Lord's Army was a Human), will be adapted into an anime series. The work, created by writer Ryousuke Hata, character designer Kuma, and mangaka Anajiro, is scheduled to debut in anime form this year.

Norihiko Nagahama, previously involved in productions such as Black Butler, Gintama, and Laid-Back Camp, will be the anime director of The Strongest Magician in the Demon Lord's Army was a Human at Studio A-Cat. Meanwhile, Touko Machida oversees the screenplay, Masami Sueoka is in charge of character design, and KOHTA YAMAMOTO composes the music for The Strongest Magician in the Demon Lord's Army was a Human anime.

Happinet explained that The Strongest Magician in the Demon Lord's Army was a Human anime faithfully adapts the manga from the light novel series. Here is a brief synopsis of the story:

Ike, known as "the strongest magician in the demon lord's army," valiantly conquers the strongholds of his enemies alone. However, behind his incredible strength, he holds a great secret that cannot even be revealed to his fellow demons: "Ike is actually human."

While Ike strives to coexist with demons and humans, the leaders of the demon army try to hide his true identity.

This epic story first appeared on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website in February 2016 and received its last update in November 2022. Its fifth volume light novel was published by Futabasha in April 2018.

The manga adaptation The Strongest Magician in the Demon Lord's Army was a Human by Anajiro started in 2019 and was serialized on Futabasha's Gaugau Monster website. The 10th volume of the manga will be released on January 30th 2024. Fans are now eagerly awaiting Ike's exciting adventures in the upcoming anime version.
