What is the real issue from BTR Light?

BTR Light's struggles have become a hot topic of discussion. The Filipino player's career in Indonesia hasn't started as smoothly as many expected.
After being signed by Bigetron from RSG PH, expectations for Light were sky-high—especially since he was once teammates with Emann, meaning their chemistry should have been solid.
However, reality hasn’t matched expectations. At least until the third week of MPL ID Season 15 and during ESL Mobile Masters, Light’s performance has been underwhelming.
Currently, Bigetron sits in fourth place with a 3-3 record. While they qualified for the ESL playoffs, their journey was far from flawless, marked by several surprising losses.
Among BTR’s roster, Light has faced the most scrutiny. Many believe he has failed to deliver in most of the team’s matches.
Certain plays—whether overextensions or miscoordinated moves—have stood out, leading to clear miscommunication with his teammates.
BTR Light’s Problem: Still a Learning Process
In an exclusive interview, Dunia Games asked Emann and Moreno about Light’s performance. Both confirmed that Light’s struggles stem from adaptation issues that haven’t fully smoothed over.
"Right now, he’s off social media because he knows how toxic it can get. Light hasn’t unlocked his full potential yet," Emann shared exclusively.
"He’s currently learning the language and in-game communication. That’s why it’s tough," added the Gold Laner, who’s widely regarded as being in top form.
Moreno echoed the sentiment, admitting the team is still adjusting to Anavel and Light, whose playstyles differ significantly from theirs.
"Honestly, it’s hard. Early-game phases are usually driven by the Jungler, Roamer, and Mid Lane—and we just got new players in those roles. The adaptation process is challenging," Moreno explained.
"Their old team’s playstyle was different, and they also have to adapt to ours. I’m adjusting to them too. Things are still shaky and not fully stable yet."
"As for Light—since we’re teammates now, it is what it is. I review his plays as best I can. If he makes a mistake, we discuss it openly. That’s just how we work things out."
"Being fluent in the language outside the game doesn’t guarantee smooth communication in-game. In-game decisions happen in split seconds, so miscommunications are bound to happen," the Mid Laner concluded.
