Masters Madrid is now the most-watched VCT (Valorant Champions Tour) tournament, breaking records!

The VCT Masters which was held in Madrid was already held and finished on March 24, 2024. Sentinels also managed to emerge as champions in one of the international level Valorant tournaments.

Masters Madrid Becomes the Most-Watched VCT Tournament

Masters Madrid is the first international Valorant tournament to be held in 2024 and is the most-watched VCT event to date. Its viewership recorded a new history, where its peak viewership reached 3.1 million. This figure is 48 percent more than the broadcast of VCT Masters Tokyo.

Additionally, the Average Minute Audience (AMA) set a record of 1.1 million for this international tournament. This figure is an increase of 97 percent compared to the previous record at the Tokyo Masters.

"Masters Madrid turned out to exceed our expectations, and we are using that momentum to prepare interesting updates for our next event," said Leo Faria, Global Head of Valorant Esports.

"We will introduce a new format to increase the competitive spirit by giving seeded teams the power to choose their opponents after the Swiss stage. So, they can take their destiny in their hands."

The format is coming to VCT Masters Shanghai, the second global tournament of Valorant. This tournament will take place from May 23 to June 9, 2024, and will bring together the 12 best teams from various regions. Following Madrid's success in setting a new attendance record, the Shanghai Masters will be held at the largest venue in VCT history, namely the Mercedes-Benz Arena. The group draw will be held on May 12, 2024.
