The MLBB x Spongebob Emote collaboration has gone viral on TikTok and YouTube. Many players are wondering whether the HAHAHA battle emote—with its annoying laugh—is an official release from Moonton or just fan-made content. This article breaks it all down with sourced information, data analysis, and clarifications from game content creators who covered the event.
MLBB x Spongebob Emote: Why the HAHAHA Battle Emote Went Viral
YouTuber Angga Mzrbest discussed the Spongebob-themed battle emotes and showcased a laughing emote with a sound many players found extremely irritating. The laugh made players believe that Moonton had released a Spongebob battle emote featuring the cartoon’s original voice. The clip quickly spread on TikTok and other platforms, prompting players to search for how to obtain it.
However, Angga clarified that the viral HAHAHA laugh emote is not an official product from Moonton. In his video, he explained that the annoying laugh came from an unofficial or fan-made clip—not part of the real MLBB x Spongebob collaboration.
According to his explanation, the official Spongebob battle emotes do not include that long laugh audio and are also unrelated to the event links circulating on TikTok. This clarification is important, as many players believed the viral emote was exclusive and obtainable through special tricks.
In the MLBB x Spongebob collaboration, Moonton created three official Spongebob battle emotes. Their designs differ from the viral version with the long laugh. The official emotes show Spongebob’s funny expressions, but without the disruptive audio found in the fan-made clip.
Aside from Spongebob, Moonton also prepared a Patrick battle emote titled “HAHAHA.” However, Patrick’s official “HAHA” emote is not the same as the viral clip and does not feature the exaggerated laugh being discussed online.
How to Get the Official Spongebob Battle Emotes
The MLBB x Spongebob event will arrive near the end of the year alongside the New Year celebration. One of the Spongebob battle emotes can be obtained through the event Team Up With Friends to Light Fireworks, which appears on the December event calendar.
Players simply need to complete several missions, including:
-
Daily login
-
Playing matches and completing games
-
Earning 12 gold medals
-
Collecting 100 kills
-
Playing ranked matches with friends
The main rewards include one official Spongebob battle emote, a themed border, and other collaboration items. The other two Spongebob emotes have not yet been confirmed by Moonton—whether they will be part of a web event or released in a later phase.
As for the Patrick and Squidward battle emotes, players can exchange Friendship Coins on December 19. For this reason, players are encouraged to collect as many Friendship Coins as possible through event missions.
Why Are So Many Players Confused?
The confusion stems from two major issues:
-
Many TikTok videos link to a different event—one that rewards a chat bubble, not battle emotes.
-
The viral HAHAHA battle emote is unofficial fan-made content.
This caused players to assume the viral emote was part of a hidden event or a special trick.
In reality, Moonton never released a battle emote with that type of loud laugh in the collaboration.
However, it’s still possible that Moonton may consider creating a licensed Spongebob laughing emote in the future. A taunting-style battle emote like that could fit well, especially after securing kills. But so far, Moonton has not indicated whether they will release audio-based emotes beyond the three main ones for Spongebob, Patrick, and Squidward.
