Capcom announced that it will release a remastered version of the 3DS RPG game Monster Hunter Stories, which was first released in 2016. The game will be released simultaneously with Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, both of which will be launched digitally on June 14, 2024. Both games from Monster Hunter Stories, including Monster Hunter Stories and Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, will be available for PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC via Steam.

Capcom also announced that pre-orders of the game will be available soon and will include Navirou's “King” and “Queen” outfits. The following is a video trailer showing the announcement of the presence of the Monster Hunter Stories Remaster.

This new release of Monster Hunter Stories will feature comprehensive voice acting in the game. With improved graphics, Museum mode, and content that was previously only available in Japan will now be available globally through this remastered version.

The story in the game is set in a village for Riders, where children start their adventure with a game of "Egg Hunting Tag". The protagonists Lilia, and Shuval go to the forest and they find a monster egg and the egg suddenly hatches. Through this encounter, the monster awakens, and the three friends now begin their journey.

Monster Hunter Stories itself was initially launched for Nintendo 3DS in October 2016 in Japan and globally in September 2017. Capcom then released this game for smartphones in Japan in December 2017 and globally in September 2018. Meanwhile, the Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin first launched worldwide for Switch and PC via Steam in July 2021.
