The M7 World Championship has once again become the biggest stage for Indonesia’s best Mobile Legends: Bang Bang players to chase the ultimate goal. After a long wait since the historic title at M1, public hope has risen once more as Indonesian representatives have returned to compete on the global stage. Becoming M7 Champions has now been set as a clear and open ambition.

Among all participating teams, ONIC Esports and Alter Ego have stood out as the most closely watched contenders. Both teams have arrived not only with strong rosters, but also with deeply personal motivations carried by their key players. For them, winning the M7 World Championship title has gone beyond strategy and mechanics.

Two names have embodied that ambition the most: SANZ from ONIC Esports and Nino from Alter Ego. While both have shared the same dream of lifting the M7 trophy, the sources of their motivation have been very different. Those contrasting stories have made their journeys even more compelling.

With M7 being held in front of a home crowd, narratives about pressure, sacrifice, and belief have naturally resurfaced. For SANZ and Nino, becoming M7 Champions has not simply been a tournament objective, but a culmination of years of struggle and perseverance in the competitive MLBB scene.

Becoming M7 Champions Has Been the Target of SANZ and Nino

As one of ONIC Esports’ core players, SANZ has long symbolized consistency and a championship mindset. Since competing at M3, M4, and M5, he has repeatedly helped ONIC reach the highest level, even though a world title has remained elusive. Now, the pursuit of the M7 Championship has felt more personal than ever.

Interestingly, SANZ’s strongest motivation has come from outside the game itself. His family has remained an endless source of strength, especially after he took on the role of family provider at a young age. His determination to become an M7 Champion has been inseparable from that responsibility.

“I have always remembered why I came to Jakarta in the first place. I always think about my parents and that I have to bring home something meaningful for my family. When I remember them, it pushes me to prove that I can be better than anyone else, improve every day and every tournament, and never feel satisfied,” SANZ said.

That hunger has been maintained despite SANZ already collecting numerous domestic titles, including seven MPL ID trophies and one MSC championship. While many players might feel content after such success, SANZ has remained driven. Becoming M7 Champions has been the one achievement missing from his career.

SANZ’s journey has never been instant. He moved from Makassar to Jakarta at just 16 years old with his parents’ blessing, began his professional career with Victim Esports, and eventually joined ONIC. From early struggles to becoming the backbone of the team, every phase shaped his mentality toward chasing a world title.

His ambition has also been recognized by longtime teammate Kiboy. Having played alongside SANZ for years, Kiboy has witnessed firsthand how intense his work ethic and desire to win have always been, especially after defeats.

“For me, Gilang is incredibly hardworking and consistent from the start until now. You can clearly see his ambition through his effort. When we lose, he’s one of the most visibly frustrated players because he wants to keep winning,” Kiboy explained.

From Alter Ego’s perspective, Nino has arrived with a different but equally powerful story. M7 has become his first-ever World Championship appearance since joining Alter Ego in 2021. The trust placed in him has turned the M7 title into the most important proving ground of his career.

Alter Ego’s inconsistent results, combined with Nino’s role change from gold lane to EXP lane, once pushed him to his lowest point. However, that struggle became the foundation of his strongest motivation: repaying the trust that Alter Ego continued to place in him.

“Over these nine seasons, I’ve experienced a lot of ups and downs. It made me stressed, feeling unworthy, even wanting to quit. But Alter Ego always gave me another chance, and I want to prove that trust,” Nino said.

That belief consistently came from Alter Ego’s owner, Delwyn Sukamto. Even when Nino doubted himself, the trust never disappeared. For Nino, that support became the main reason he kept fighting to become an M7 Champion.

With different sources of motivation, SANZ and Nino have now stood at the same point: chasing a world championship title in front of their home crowd. M7 is not only about drafts and mechanics, but also about mentality and belief. And for ONIC Esports and Alter Ego, becoming M7 Champions is a dream they are ready to fight for with everything they have.
