Crunchyroll revealed a preview trailer for Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2 during the Industry Panel Anime Expo 2022, which will be released next year. The 2023-slated anime series is the sequel to the first season of the popular Studio Bind’s anime series. Studio Bind will once again be in charge of the production of this series. 

The preview trailer is narrated by Rudeus’ older self, voiced by Tomokazu Sugita, depicting Rudeus’ journey in the second season. Previously, the second season of this anime series was first announced in March, with Studio Bind animating the first season under Manabu Okamoto. 

The first season of Mushoku Tensei was divided into 2 separate sessions throughout Fall-Winter 2021, with a total of 23 episodes. An OVA episode focusing on Eris’ story was released earlier this year. 

This anime is based on Rifujin na Magonote’s light novel, with illustrations from Shirotaka. The light novel was published by MF Books in 2012 as a web novel at Shousetsuka ni Narou. The manga version is still ongoing, along with 2 spin-offs, Mushoku Tensei: Roxy Gets Serious and the recently released Eris spin-off. 

Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation is an anime that follows a 34-year-old man who gets kicked out of his house after the death of his parents. The unknown man didn’t go to school nor had a job. After he bravely jumps in the direction of a truck that’s going to hit a group of teenagers in an effort to do something meaningful in his life, he dies. But apparently, his life isn’t over yet as he finds himself in the body of a baby. He gets reincarnated into a world of swords and magic. Given the failure he had in his previous life, he tries to do better in his current life. That’s when he begins his life as Rudeus Greyrat.
