Kadokawa has just released a behind the scenes video with English subtitles for the anime series adapted from the light novel by Akumi Agitogi and illustrator Tsukiho Tsukioka, My Happy Marriage (Watashi no Shiawase na Kekkon), on Wednesday, August 20th 2023. In this video, director Takehiro Kubota, key and layout animator Chihiro Takahashi, and in-between animator Mai Iwata discuss the process of planning, layout, and making the final scene of the first episode of this anime.

The anime series premiered on July 5th 2023. Netflix also began streaming the anime globally on the same date. The anime will have a total of 12 episodes. The eighth novel volume will include the original anime titled Shiawase no Katachi (The Shape of Happiness) on Blu-ray Disc to be released on March 15th 2024.

Takehiro Kubota (Gloomy the Naughty Grizzly) is directing the series at Kinema Citrus (Made in Abyss) studio. Takao Abo (22/7, Macross Frontier) is in charge of storyboarding and supervision. Ami Satо̄, Takahito Onishi, and Momoka Toyoda are supervising the series scripts. Shoko Yasuda (Happy Sugar Life) is designing the characters. Yuushi Koshida (Ghost in the Shell Arise) serves as the 3DCG director.

Evan Call (Violet Evergarden) is composing the music. Riria. is performing the anime's opening theme song "Anata no Soba ni" (By Your Side), while Kashitaro Ito is performing the ending theme song "Vita Philosophica."

Agitogi and Tsukioka launched the novel series in January 2019. Rito Kohsaka's manga adaptation debuted on Square Enix's Gangan Online website in December 2018. Square Enix Manga & Books released the manga in both physical and digital form in English.

The live action movie adaptation of the novel will open in Japan on March 17th 2023. In addition, the novel is also inspiring a stage show to be held in August 2023.
