Over 20 years ago, the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise entered a new era with Mobile Suit Gundam Seed, presenting a fresh approach to the long-standing anime series that captured the interest of the youth at the time.

One memorable moment was when fans were surprised with the 25th episode and its J-pop opening theme song, "Believe" sung by Nami Tamaki, complemented by a new opening animation that introduced the now iconic FREEDOM Gundam.

Shortly before the release of Mobile Suit Gundam Seed FREEDOM, Tamaki appeared on Japanese YouTube channel, The First Take, to perform her legendary song in one take.

In the 396th episode, Nami Tamaki, who will celebrate her 20th anniversary since her debut in 2023, will make her first appearance on The First Take channel. She will perform her debut title song, "Believe," which is the third opening song for the TV anime Mobile Suit Gundam Seed.

The video begins with Tamaki saying, "I made my debut with this song 'Believe' 20 years ago. I want to express my gratitude by singing it today with all my heart." After making sure the band was ready and having a brief conversation, Tamaki began her performance with a bang. The performance was mesmerizing and showcased Tamaki's incredible vocal talent.

During her singing, she also expresses herself with expressive hand gestures and even does a few dance moves. Observant fans will realize that Tamaki even performed the dance moves from the 2003 music video "Believe" in the middle of the song, a delightful surprise for her fans.

YouTube channel The First Take debuted in 2019, and invites musicians to perform their songs in one take. Although various camera angles are used in many videos, the goal is to showcase dynamic performances. Many other talents have also appeared on The First Take, such as Queen Bee with "Mephisto," Flow with "GO!!!," and ClariS with "Connect."

Tamaki's performance of "Believe" on The First Take is the perfect way to welcome the release of Mobile Suit Gundam Seed FREEDOM. Hopefully this song will also be a part of the movie, but we'll have to wait until Mobile Suit Gundam Seed FREEDOM hits theaters on Friday January 26th 2024 in Japan to find out.
