MPL ID S16 will be more shocking after 2 weeks.

The MPL ID S16 competition had become increasingly unpredictable. The first two weeks had unfolded with plenty of surprises, and now the spotlight had turned to two teams that had risen after initially being doubted—NaVi and Dewa United Esports. Both had performed impressively, showing a much more solid game compared to the opening week.

NaVi, who had initially been seen as still adapting to the MPL Indonesia atmosphere, had shown rapid progress. The arrival of two Filipino players, Andoryuu and Uk1r, had truly brought a significant impact on the team’s playstyle. From being a passive squad, NaVi had transformed into a more aggressive side that dared to control the tempo of the game.

Meanwhile, Dewa United Esports had also stolen the show. Since Qinn, the Filipino EXP Laner, had finally been able to play in week 2, Dewa’s performance had changed drastically. They had secured two consecutive victories and immediately climbed to the middle of the standings. This shift had marked a turning point for a team once considered mere participants.

The rise of these two teams had shifted the power map of MPL ID S16. NaVi had now sat in 7th place with a 2-2 record, while Dewa United Esports had occupied 5th place with the same record. The fact that both could record positive results while still experiencing defeats had made the competition even more heated, especially for bigger teams that had begun to lose consistency.

The Power Map of MPL ID S16 Shifted

NaVi had become a compelling story. Previously, they had fallen to EVOS and ONIC quite easily, but the bold decision to field Andoryuu in the mid lane and Uk1r in the gold lane had proven effective. Both had added a fresh dynamic to NaVi’s strategy, particularly in executing more disciplined and objective teamfights.

Dewa United Esports had mirrored this development. Qinn had brought stability in the EXP lane, allowing players like Octa and Reyy to play more freely. This momentum had ensured that Dewa was no longer an easy target but rather a legitimate threat to anyone.

Two victories each had not been enough to guarantee long-term stability, but both had proven they could compete. NaVi, once underestimated due to their lack of MPL Indonesia experience, now possessed the potential to overtake mid-table teams.

The same had applied to Dewa. With an increasingly aggressive playstyle and growing confidence, they could become stumbling blocks for big teams in decline. It was not impossible for Dewa to emerge as a dark horse throughout the rest of the season.

The rise of NaVi and Dewa had also exposed the weaknesses of big teams. EVOS, who sat in 8th place with a 1-2 record, had struggled to maintain consistency. After a clean 2-0 win against NaVi in week 1, the White Tigers had stumbled with two straight defeats.

TLID’s case had been even more concerning. A team once touted as a title contender had sunk to 9th place with a 0-3 record. Losses to RRQ, ONIC, and Dewa United had revealed just how poor the team’s current condition had been.

This situation had signaled that big teams could no longer afford to underestimate their opponents. NaVi and Dewa had shown how roster changes could provide instant impact. If this positive trend continued, one of them could very well break into the top four.

The battles in the coming weeks promised to grow even tighter. NaVi and Dewa United would need to prove that their resurgence was not temporary, but rather a foundation to challenge elite teams like ONIC or RRQ.

For EVOS and TLID, the pressure had mounted. They were required to recover quickly or risk falling further behind in the standings. If not, their season’s story could end in disappointment.

The MPL ID S16 had already presented a new dynamic. NaVi and Dewa United Esports had delivered surprises with their impressive performances. Now, the big teams had to tread carefully, as the balance of power had shifted. With just a moment of carelessness, their positions could be overtaken by these two resurging squads.
