The long-awaited Granger nerf has finally happened. One of the strongest marksmen in Mobile Legends has had his power tuned down in the latest patch.
Ever since his skillset had been revamped a few patches ago, Granger had never fallen out of favor in high-tier ranked matches and competitive play. His strong early game, synergy with Sky Piercer, and surprising late-game scaling had made him a top priority pick in nearly every region.
Granger and Harith have dominated the Gold Lane meta, consistently being either picked or banned across all MPL regions. This alone has proven just how impactful these two heroes have become.
But Granger’s power had gone too far. He hasn’t just been painful to deal with—his Area of Effect damage, mobility, and ability to dive in and out of fights have made him an overwhelming threat.
As a result, Moonton has dropped a significant nerf on Granger in the most recent update. The big question now is: Has this nerf ended his reign, or is he still viable in the meta?
The Granger Nerf Hits Where It Hurts
The nerf to Granger has turned out to be quite significant, targeting two of the hero’s most important tools—his second skill dash and his ultimate’s ability to open vision.
Granger’s dash distance has been reduced from 3 to 2.5, limiting his mobility and making him more vulnerable in team fights and skirmishes. More importantly, his ultimate can no longer provide vision through bushes, a feature that had made him one of the best heroes for scouting and poking.
In addition, the dash speed during his ultimate has been reduced from 2 to 1.7, and its cast range has dropped from 11.5 to 10.
These changes have essentially stripped Granger of his scouting utility and slightly lowered his mobility—two things that had defined his dominance in recent metas.
Harith Has Emerged Unmatched
While Harith has also received a nerf, it has only affected his first skill's damage and hasn’t changed his core playstyle. In contrast to Granger’s mechanical downgrade, Harith has remained almost untouched.
According to MPL analyst Aeronshikii and streamer Mas Ade, this patch has tilted the Gold Lane balance in Harith’s favor.
“I still think Granger feels decent, but he won’t be a first-pick anymore. He’s now just like any other marksman,” said Aeronshikii during a livestream. “As for Harith, nothing can really counter him effectively right now. Maybe Lunox or Ruby like before, to keep him in check.”
Mas Ade chimed in with a rhetorical remark, “So Harith has no real counter anymore. Auto-ban Harith?”
Their comments have echoed what many players have already started noticing—Harith has become the uncontested king of the Gold Lane. With Granger’s utility and mobility toned down, there’s no one left to go toe-to-toe with Harith in the early and mid game.
What’s Next for the Gold Lane Meta?
This patch has reshaped the Gold Lane hierarchy. Granger has lost his first-pick status, while Harith has risen to near-untouchable levels. Unless another hero has stepped up to counter him effectively, we might see Harith getting banned in nearly every draft moving forward.
It’s only a matter of time before the competitive scene has reacted fully to these changes. Whether new Gold Lane picks have surfaced to fill the gap or not, one thing is clear: Harith has become the most dangerous Gold Laner in the current patch.
Until then, be ready to either lock in Harith or ban him out, because the mage marksman hybrid has taken over the spotlight—and he has no challengers left.
